So I just started Wolvden today and have a few questions.

Is the only way of having more slot for your adult wolves buying slots? I used to play Lioden and I thought there was like a battle feature?

Do Scouts always use the entirety of their energies, or can you determine how much they use?

Are Pup Sitters worth it? It seems like wasting a lot of energy for something I feel doesn't matter in the early stage of the game.

At this point during exploring, should I use my energy on fighting or trying to gather items?

Thank you in advance!

hi

welcome to wolvden

there is no battling system yet on wolvden so the only wauy of getting more slots to get them by paying SC / GC

scouts will use as much energy as they when they are discovering a new area. they need 100% energy in rescouting an area.

pup sitters are worth the time and effort. without any pup sitters any pups you have , have a chance of dying. of course having a pup sitter makes sure the pup survives. a pup could die while they are being protected by a pup sitter.

it is up to you how you want to use your energy during explore.

i hope this information helps you

I have not played LD, but in WD the only way to get more room for wolves is to buy the slots. Starts out as SC purchase and eventually you have to pay GC.

Scouts will use all their energy, you can't reserve any.

Pupsitters are worth it, I think, although even without them my pups rarely die. If you look at my den right now, you will see that I am only pupsitting the pups I want to keep, and not the ones labeled chase.

For me, I think using energy on fighting is good because for one thing you can get some items (trophies and meat chunks) by fighting. Also, as your lead levels up you can find fancier wild wolves to befriend. Starting at lvl 10 you can find chased wolves, which are wolves that other people kicked out of their packs, and at 15 you can find rated wolves, which are guaranteed to have at least one rare trait.

You've gotten answers already, but this might help you anyway! (And I typed it all out when there were no replies yet lol.)

Hey, welcome to Wolvden! I'll try to answer as best I can, feel free to ask for clarification if you want more details. :)

  1. Unfortunately the only way to get slots is through buying with SC. It converts to GC after 51, but there's no way to get them without currency involved. Here's more info on the price range of den slots.
  2. It takes 60% energy to discover a biome, and 20-100% per visit to that biome. How much it uses is dependent on the scout's current energy - it will use all of it that's available. Once a biome is fully scouted, it takes a full 100% bar to explore again and will give amusement items and potentially a recipe.
  3. Pupsitters being important depends on whether you care about a pup or not, due to the survival bars. I would say early game, they're not that imperative - mostly just focus on getting a full hunting group, an herbalist, and a scout or two. After that, it's best to convert all extra wolves to pupsitters and give them pups to watch (if there are any) so they can get experience to level up and increase their stats.
  4. Personally I focus on fighting until level 10, at which point I ignore battling and use energy on finding items. This is because level 10 unlocks chased wolves, which can be really valuable depending on what they are. There isn't a big need to level up any further unless you're aiming to stat-gain. Fighting can give trophies, but they're pretty rare for the most part, so I don't find it worth it. It's all up to you to decide on this one.

Here's a directory to the site's biggest guidebook, the Grouse House. It will give you a decent rundown on all the basics of the site, and can answer some of your questions that may arise later on.

I hope this helped, let me know if you need anything else! ^^

You're welcome! Welcome to the game! Feel free to message me if you have any q's. I'm not an expert or anything, but I will help if I can! Also check out these really good user-created guides! (I'm not affiliated with these folks, they are just the best!) https://www.wolvden.com/chatter/topic/258
