Can Mentors Gain +1s? SOLVED

Can mentors gain stats from being a mentor, like how hunters or scouts can gain +1 stats?

EDIT - Reread the news post and found the answer, " Adult wolves might also gain a couple of stats a day in the stats they are training puppies in as well, if they haven't already gained any that day."
