Special Bases Theory

Special Bases Theory

Have you ever looked at the Tier III bases and noticed that something is missing? Not sure of what I mean? I'll show you below:

Warm Light Tier III bases: Piasa and Tombac

Warm Medium: Mojave and Wulfenite (also Fox)

Warm Dark: Pyrope and Realgar

Muted Light: Teardrop and Zircon

Muted Medium: Lily and Pearl

Muted Dark: Seal and Bronze

Monochrome Light: Argent and Chromium

Monochrome Medium: Flint and Striped Flint

Monochrome Dark: Iridium and Slate

Cool Light: Opal

Cool Medium: Grulla

Cool Dark: Serpentine

Every category has two bases (Warm Medium has 3, but Fox was added later). Every category except for the cool bases. They only have one base. That seems weird, right? As someone who loves cool bases, I was disappointed to find that there were only 3 Tier III cool bases.

...Or are there?

See, my theory is that the three special bases - Selene, Luna, and Losna - were originally the missing Tier III cool bases. Selene was originally Cool Light III, Luna was originally Cool Medium III, and Losna was originally Cool Dark III. After all, the colors line up with other cool bases (mostly blue-ish colors). And recently, this bug was reported and fixed, which states that the Losna base was listed as Cool Dark * instead of Special Dark * (this has been changed).

I think these three bases were planned to be added as Cool Tier III bases, like Opal, Grulla, and Serpentine, but when the devs came up with the lunar event, they were changed to be the special base applicators, and were added to the game as such. Which is fine, because they are arguably more easily obtained than Tier III bases and their looks and names are perfect for such an event (well, the names might have been changed to better fit the event, I guess). However, no new bases were added to fill the Cool Tier III void left behind.

...Though to be fair, there aren't that many cool bases compared to the other color categories. There are 18 cool bases, 33 muted bases, 34 warm bases, and 33 monochrome bases. Which again, is a shame because I love cool bases. But what do you think? Do you think this could be the case? Or are the devs just neglecting the cool base category? Let me know below!
