Stinky scent not giving SC?

Hello all!

I was under the impression that when you picked the "Follow the stinky scent" option, that you were supposed to get at least 1 SC. For a few weeks now, I have not been getting any sort of reward for that option. I was wondering if this may be a glitch, or if I'm just misinformed?

If you have 5000 or more SC (including buried) you'll stop finding SC in explore.
