So I checked how much time my first hunter, scout and herbalist took to get to level 7, and I did a rough estimate for pupsitters.

The hunter did about 8 hunts a day, I'd say, and the herbalist probably about 8 foragings and one medicine. Since the hunter started with a beginner's hunting party, they did only critter trails before they got enough proficiency. So both have a good activity level, but could have done a bit better. The scout was a beginner too, and started with the easy biomes, but probably scouted often enough that they did the best they could have done.

It took my scout 8 days to level up to 7.

My herbalist, 10.

The hunter, 13.

A pupsitter, 67.

According to my calculations, it would take about 325 days for a pupsitter to reach level 12. It took my scout 19 days (I don't have a level 12 hunter). 325 rollovers is 13 1/2 in-game years.

I dunno, I feel like pupsitters are kinda mistreated there.

PS: I'm not necessarily saying this should change, it might be important for game balance or something, seeing as we have an unlimited number of pupsitter, but I wanted to vent/share my calculations.

PPS: how did I calculate pupsitters level up times? I found wolves of each level and wrote down the level up exp. Then I got all my pupsitters (level 2, 5, 7, and 12), checked how much exp they got that day, and interpolated for the levels I didn't have. I didn't take into account how pupsitting proficiency could change exp gain, but I think the error margin is small enough for my point to still stand.

I guess it's because you can have a gazillion pupsitters, so they nerfed them....?
