Lilith's green eyes widened with something that bordered on contempt and awe. Perhaps she had taken the intruding she-wolf for less than was merited of her. "Are you now?" The lead wolf growled softly under her breath when Sora spoke of the pregnancy. She knew that Nikolai enjoyed running and sowing seed where ever his paws may land, but to think one such occurrence would show up on her land and ask to enter? A ragged breath escaped Lilith before she spoke again, "Linger. Have your offspring. We won't let harm come to them." Her lips wrinkled as she added, "But be wise. If we find you on the wrong side of our customs... I reserve the right to bloody that pretty hide of yours and return you to the land for ants to feed on." At her closing remark Lilith strode away to busy her self among the more elder members of her pack. She gave not a second glance to Sora, and now appeared indifferent to the matter that had been so pressing just moments prior.

As soon as Lilith seemed preoccupied Nikolai slack his way back to Sora. He gave a timid and brisk lick of affection to her jaw, "Are you alright?" He added a concerned look before speaking again, "I am sure you have questions..." 

" Yes alpha .. I understand" Sora was scared of all things " Nikolai.. I.. " she whined as she let him lick her jaw, but then snarled " please find me a place to stay for now... but once I have had y-you-r pups.. I have to go. I cant stay and be with you. But.. I will do as y-your alpha asked of me "

She nuzzled him gently as if she had the right to be with him " Why I-is she like that. shes so mean.. How can you stand that from an alpha?"

she looked away from a moment as spotted the alpha " find me a place away from her for now.. please" she whined walking past him slowly. " She knows about my pregnancy...." she whined looking at Nikolai. 

Nikolai pulled back slightly as she spoke; taking her in, and listening intently. He glanced back at Lilith when Sora asked of her, “She wants her pack to prosper, and the way she doesn't that is with intimidation.” It more or less worked. Over the short time Nikolai had been apart of the pack he had been fed and protected. He had no delusions that he could be with this pack forever, or not under Lilith's command at least.

Nikolai followed behind Sora as she brushed pack him, “Does that bother you?” The male asked in reface to Lilith’s knowledge of their unborn offspring, “There is a winter den site to the West that I am sure you can make use of. I can bet you won’t mind being away from core of the pack.” He wondered if there was something else troubling Sora, and knew this could be a lot to take in for any wolf.

Sora sighed " The winter spot should be fine for now. But when the pups are born Nikolai... please can you promise me you wont abandon them?"

She eyed the male with sad eyes " I wanted pups for so long, but I wasnt ready and I would have mad a mistake, but I know I didnt when i saw you, Nikolai"

She walked to him and nuzzled his muzzle with a little whine " But Im not leaving my pups after they are sent back here. I just... cant. And I dont plan on leaving you either. "

The sun was dipping low on the horizon as she spoke to him. He could hear the fretting in her voice, and a part of him grieved for the life that was now behind them both. When Sora pressed close he leaned into the affection. For now Nikolai was hesitant to make promises he might not be able to keep. “Where would I possibly go?” He spoke with an edge of play on his voice and let a taunting smile slip over his lips. He considered what would become of them. At the moment he had no plans to leave the pack, and thus no plans to leave Sora’s side. For certain he hoped to do his best to aid her in being well fed and protected. Beyond that? He hadn’t concerned much. 

“The hunters should be returning soon. Shall we make sure you’re comfortable before I beg, borrow, and steal for our dinner?” He continued heading West a short jaunt. The winter den was a pine needle laden dip between cedar roots. He slipped in a brushed out old wolf fur and rocks that had clattered into its depth after a season’s disuse. 

“Starkov is in the summer den… given… the season.” He popped back out, dirt on his nose, “No one else will need this until the snows fall.” He paused considering how much he wanted to explain the situation. “I hope you can understand… Starkov and I…” He choosing his words closely. “It is business.” He glanced at Sora, eyeing her for moment. “Lilith wants pups to exchange with other packs. Form alliances.” He sneezed after a shifting of dirt. “I hardly know her.” Nikolai added in reference to the wolf currently nursing his other litter.

Sora chuckled as he helped make her winter den " And whats more... you hardly know me, Nikolai...." she said nuzzling him to get rid of the dirt on his nose " And yes please... im starving. Haven't had anything to eat in a while."

Once she was able to head inside the den, Sora whined and wrapped around to make herself as comfortable as she possibly could " And business? Do I even want to know? " she added after settling in and had her orange eyes back on to the male " If you cant get food for us... I'll do it myself. Even if I get hurt. Im way stronger than that Alpha thinks I am."

a growl escaped her throat, but it wasnt a mean aggressive one, it was one for Nikolai so he knew it was safe to come closer to her " And if I hear any of my pups are hurt while in this pack, I swear I'll fight the ones that harm them. "

She meant what she said and she wasnt going to give up that easily on family. " You are all I have now, Nikolai...so im counting on you to help me and our pups. " Soon after that, Sora closed her eyed and fell asleep till food would arrive... if any
