Theory Testing : Hunters need time to adjust to a Biome!

Posted 2021-06-05 07:57:22 (edited)

For science, I'm now moving back to the taiga after a couple days away, so we'll see if my teams can hit all their old benchmarks.

Previously in taiga, before moving away:
Rule the World squad: 42% small
Ghost River squad: 70% small, 50% medium, 40% large
Ravenlight squad: 85% small, 62% medium, 50% large

Today's stats, after moving back:
Rule the World squad: 44% small [stats are a bit skewed because this team leveled up]
Ghost River squad: 71% small, 51% medium, 41% large
Ravenlight squad: 86% small, 62% medium, 50% large

Seems to have gone fine (and I guess everyone gained a little stats while they were away, even though Rule the World is the only team whose wolves leveled up).

New update:

I just moved to the beginners forest again, and already the hunting got better. Options became 3 large scent trails all at 57%, where before it was closer to 20%. I only moved an hour ago and had one hunt, but its already far better. Perhaps the starter bioms just have better chances?

Biomes increase in difficulty the further you move away from the starters! So even just the conif forest is very difficult if your hunters aren't levelled enough! <--- A dumbass without a good back up stalker who was forced to move from Conif back to grasslands because less stats are required in the grasslands to find large prey.

Stalker stats affect what trails you'll find, and the EXP does stagger up ladder-like as you go.  A Taiga large is about equal to a Rainforest small in EXP for example. For best results to check out your theory, you'll want people to move between the same difficulty biome with level 20 wolves at full proficiency and full synergy.

Here are the lowest recorded stalker stats (wisdom+smarts) we have encountered to get x size trail in the following biomes:

Starter biomes (grassland/ deciduous/ mountains):
Small/medium trail: ??? Low
Large trail: 182

Medium biomes (Riparian / Coniferous / Prairie):
Small trail: ???
Medium trail: 151
Large trail: 273

Difficult biomes (Taiga/ Desert):
Small: 213
Medium: 302
Large: 454

Challenging biomes (Tundra/Swamp):
Small trail: 293
Medium: 533 (fluke?) 550 consistently
Large: ???

Extreme Biomes (Rainforest/ Glacier)
Small: 350
Medium: 615 (super small chance likely fluke) 700 to consistently get 1/10
Large: ???
