Theory Testing : Hunters need time to adjust to a Biome!

Posted 2021-06-02 13:04:59

Thanks Mima! The level 20ers - was that Riniya's pack?

This data is really useful, because yours (who had no apparent change) are a lovely high stat hunter group from the looks of it.Β  Since they've come back with 'no change at all' this will either be the first towards disproving the theory OR demonstrate that good enough stats mean that the disorientation isn't too bad. Am assuming the level 20 troop were all at 100% prof and synergy?

Yes, it's her lot! They're all 100% synergy and proficiency

Biome moved to: Desert - 14:36 (WD time) 2nd June

Prey size you were finding previously: Large

How many ROs did it take to find that size prey again: 4 Hunts / 1 RO. (01:47 WD time, 3rd June)

Biom moved to: conifer forest

Prey size previously found: large/medium all 75-90% chance of catching

Current time in biom: 3 or 4 days/rollovers?Β

Current prey found: small or critter trails at 40% chance catching (found one medium trail with 20% chance catching)

Thank you Luna! Is this you moving 'back' to conifer forest, or moved there for the first time?

Biome moved to:Β  Rainforest (09:43 WD time, 3rd June)

Prey size you were finding previously:Β  Small

How many ROs did it take to find that size prey again:Β  0- 2! 5th June.

[[ So - a note to followup. My Head Honcho stalker actually got Smalls again basically straightaway. But my secondary stalker, who *was* getting smalls all the time last time I was in RF, took 2 rollovers to get one again.Β  Notably, my Head Honcho stalker's group also didn't start *catching* anything reliably until today, but today they succeeded almost all of their hunts. So... currently I'm swinging down on the side of 'there IS an effect' though it's fully possible to have a strong enough team/synergy/prof to not notice it. That would also make it seem to turn up less when moving back to an easier biome. Still want to wait for some more info (and science!) before calling this one though, since RNG is RNG and I think we need a little more to feel certain that it's not just crap luck XD ]]

Tag because I keep losing track of this topic! I'm currently in the process of moving from taiga to desert, which is an equal difficulty biome, so I'll see if we're disoriented on arrival.

Edit: Move complete!

Earlier today, in taiga:
Rule the World squad: 42% small
Ghost River squad: 70% small, 50% medium, 40% large
Ravenlight squad: 85% small, 62% medium, 50% large

Currently, in desert:
Rule the World squad: 42% small
Ghost River squad: 71% small, 51% medium, 41% large
Ravenlight squad: 86% small, 62% medium, 50% large

My hunters are loving the change of scenery! No disorientation at all. (I'm surprised that some numbers went up! No one has leveled up. Maybe desert is just slightly easier than taiga? [edit: nah it seems they're just a tiny bit better])

Hm... what if same difficulty biomes disorient the hunters, but not as much for new difficulty biomes?

Edit: Hm, the success chances were higher is Desert

I moved from deciduous forest to conifer, granted i was in the easier biom. I am currently planning to move back if i cannot get good hunts by winter, i dont want my wolves to leave from hunger lol
