Hey there!

I'm a big nerd who loves developing tools to help out players of games I enjoy. My understanding is that, under Wolvden's current TOS, any sort of automated data collection is forbidden. This is totally understandable; I imagine network traffic to your servers is already fairly intense, due to the site's image-heavy nature. I also understand that there are presumably concerns about automated page access making important site funding items like "Feed All Play All" obsolete.

I would love some kind of simple official method of automatically getting data about wolves and packs for parsing, display, and analysis. For instance, I'd love to be able to quickly throw a script together to trace back a wolf's full genetic tree and check it for common studs, or to be able to automatically query things like the text status of hunts for display in a custom client (ultimately decreasing server traffic, as purely returning text queries would not require sending any images!)

For context, I'm also a frequent player of Blaseball, a real-time online game that is, in some respects, similar to Wolvden- player interaction and in-game currency have heavy impacts on in-game events. Something I really enjoy about Blaseball''s community is that the developers have actively encouraged and provided support for stats nerds to develop tools for examining and interacting with the game, and this has helped attract an entirely new audience to the game. I think making the same sorts of tools available to Wolvden players would ultimately be beneficial to the game's community.

Thanks for taking the time to consider this post! I understand this would be an extremely low priority, if even considered, but ultimately I think allowing developers to develop tools for interacting with Wolvden in unique ways would be beneficial to both the game and its community.
