Pupsitter Death Affecting Survival of 100% Protected Puppies

Pupsitter Death Affecting Survival of 100% Protected Puppies

Hello Devs,

I would like to make a formal suggestion regarding pupsitters dying of old age, and the survival of their respective pups.

As we all know, during rollover there are a series of survival / death rolls for our wolves. One of which being for adults, and the other for pups. I have unfortunately found that, even when a pup has 100% protection from a pupsitter, this will not guarantee their survival if the pupsitter is 7 years and 5 1/2 months or older. Because of that, we have to anticipate the death of the pupsitter by making sure the pup is at 100% survival without the pupsitter boost, if we expect it to survive. I believe this is because the death roll for adults occurs before that of the pups. While this does seem like a natural challenge of the game, it’s also a bit unfair that these pups have no warning message or any notification regarding this risk. I do my best to place my most important pups with a 100% proficiency pupsitter, yet I’ve had a couple deaths due to this.

My suggestion to combat this is to have the adult death roll occur after the roll that affects puppy survival. That way, pups that were protected to 100% will make it through the rollover, even if their sitter dies. Obviously, the pup will loose the protected status at / after rollover, but at least the 100% survival chance will carry them through. If this is not possible, it would be nice to have a warning message similar to that which displays which pups are unprotected.

I would highly appreciate if this suggestion would be taken into consideration ! Thank you very much for your time and contribution to the site.

Support. The current system is quite counter-intuitive. A player seeing their pups at 100% would naturally expect them to have a 100% chance of survival, and should be able to rely on that percentage regardless of the pupsitter's age.

Very high support! Right now if you have a pupsitter its a risk to use them past 7y 5.5m. It's enough having to juggle protection without the extra complication of having to check the age of the sitter.

I can guess there might be a problem depending on how the order of events is during RO, but if this can be done I'd love to see it.

If they're not going to do something about this, I suggest at least to make a pupsitters age clearly visible in the pupsitting page. Possibly additionally to this they should add some disclaimer somewhere that the pupsitter is getting old

I would also love to see the pupsitter's age in the pupsitting assignment page. It is hard to try and remember which ones are getting older and just how old they are without having to go look. But having the death roll order adjusted is definitely preferable!

Support!!

I've had a few puppies die because their pupsitter died on the same rollover. I know this game is supposed to be a little more difficult than other pet sims and such but to me it feels a little extra unfair, even for wolvden, to have 0 warning or chance for the puppy's survival when their pupsitter dies. A warning at least would be nice but even better would be to give the puppies another rollover before it counts as the puppy being sitterless because by technicality the puppy does have a sitter upon clicking the rollover button so it's unexpected for them to die as there's no mention of them being unprotected before rollover. This would give users a chance to assign a new sitter before the next rollover happens.

Just lost a T3 pup. I think it's reasonable to have the pupsitter death to be calculated after the pup's survival chances. It's also an extra step to remember to have your pupsitters step down in time, not to mention there might not be enough pupsitters. There's enough to worry with puppies, we do need some sort of a solution.

Why is this
A) not already a thing, and
B) not implemented yet after all this time?

I'm livid right now- waking up to find my pupsitter dying of old age and the pup she was protecting having died too as his survival dropped and his death roll was after hers.

I lost my G2 smoke eyed bronze because this feature hasn't been fixed!
This isn't a case of seeing a pups low protection and failing to take necessary measures to ensure his survival. Non-lead death rolls are RANDOM and there is no possible way to predict when they will die, absolutely NO warning, and thus, NO possible way to take precautions against this unless you micromanage the age of all your pupsitters- which, on top of juggling the survival and care of their pups, seems really excessive.
This pup was at 100 PERCENT SURVIVAL! When you log off for the day, you are supposed to feel safe knowing this pup is protected and WILL NOT DIE! The last thing you need is to be blindsided by something you cannot control, and that has no warning.

Implementing a feature that warns you of all non-lead death rolls within the pack would be excessive. Especially if you have large packs. It's just a simple fix of having pupsitter death rolls roll after pups and I fail to see how this would cause issues with abuse or imbalance if it was implemented.
