I recently had my own lead die and here's a pretty basic brief:
-Choose a replacement lead or create one. As long as they're over the age of 1, they'll retain their age (those under 1 will turn 1). They'll also retain their levels/stats/etc., everything but their roles. I presume if they were breeding male they would still be breeding male.
-Your explore map resets. Only your home biome remains explored and you'll have to scout everywhere else out again (starting with the connecting biomes, the same way as when you initially started).

-...this happened like within the past week or two and I can't even remember if anything else happened. I think those were the two big things. If I recall anything else I'll edit and I'm sure other folks have more details~

The biggest thing is the map resets, so if you an you should plan for that. It's better to get a high proff. scout as it's a litter quicker, but it will still take quite awhile. If you are heavily relying on Tundra for Food drops or Glacier for amusement you can move there, set your new lead, and move back to a start biome if you need.

Also, your new lead will lose his footnote if he has one. If you want to keep that info, cut/paste it into his description.
