How to get a flint?

I know the basics of genetics from the grouse house guide, but I wanted to pick your brain to see the most likely way to be able to get the lowest gen flint wolf possible!

its Breed only tier III, so we’re looking at either a freak chance chased NBW gen 1, or a gen 2 pup bred. 

I’m wondering what strategy I should take for getting the highest chance of a gen 2 flint!

In order to get a Gen 2, one of the parents would have to be an NBW who had either the Fox base or the Selene base applied. Flint is a Monochrome Medium III, and Fox is a Warm Medium III (as opposed to a Selene, which is a Special Light) so I think you'd want to have a Fox parent, and breed them with a Monochrome Medium II. I'm not great at math, especially where percentages are concerned, but I believe that would give the best odds of producing a Monochrome Medium III.

In order to have the non-Fox parent also be heritageless, you would want to either customize them or get a T2 NBW. That would mean (without getting lucky and finding a T2 chased) customizing a wolf to have the Chert base, or finding a special NBW with the Sterling base.

So your best chance would (I think) be a Fox bred with either a Chert or a Sterling.
