Question about herbalism & looking for tips!
Posted 2021-03-13 16:42:10 (edited)

Hello there! I joined about 2 days ago and I already love Wolvden! However, I have a few questions!

  1. I haven't unlocked the herbalist path at the crossroads yet. Is there something I have to do before I can access it?
  2. Some people have really pretty profiles! Custom cursors, backgrounds, colors, etc. How do I do that? I figured it out! :D
  3. Do you have any tips? Nothing in particular! Just wondering if you have anything that you regularly do that can help with my den, or something you wish you did when you first started!

The herbalist will unlock automatically after either 4 or 5 rollovers (I can never remember which). You'll get a new Tala quest to walk you through it. You'll want a wolf ready to take over the job!

1) You have to wait a few days before you can access the herbalist! It's basically like the game is giving you a buffer to get used to the site before your wolves have a chance of getting sick. After the herbalist is accessed, beware: your wolves can get sick, and some are contagious and/or deadly!!

3)  (since 2 is already answered): Tips: I'd HIGHLY suggest having at least 3 of every herb, if you can. If you don't, you can always trade 3 herbs:1 herb at the bottom of the page! Also, you can make cures for your wolves (relating to above statement), and I'd also highly suggest (really highly suggest!) having at least 1 of every cure. Your herbalist will get better at foraging for herbs and making cures over time with the proficiency bar:

Your herbalist will also lose proficiency (1% each day), so don't forget about that lovely wolf! Herbs are found in different areas/where your pack lives, so keep that in mind. I personally chose the Riparian Woodland because it has the widest variety of herbs (although not the rarest/least common!) Also, since some diseases can be contagious (fleas), while some cannot (open wound), you can put the sick wolves (with fleas and contagious diseases) in a separate cave so you don't have an outbreak of fleas!

I'm so sorry this was mega long, I'm just trying to be thorough!

And, ooh, one more thing!! All actions of the herbalist will take 20% of the herbalists' energy, so personally I let mine look for herbs in the spring/summer/fall (you can find more at that time!) and make healing cures at winter (when there's less herbs.)

Plus, if you're online while your herbalist is gathering, you can do it more often instead of having a 100% energy bar just sitting there while you can't get to Wolvden. I let mine make cures when I'm *sleeping*, since it takes quite a bit longer.

I might edit this if you need more help.
