Rarities on Wolves?

Rarities on Wolves?
Posted 2021-03-09 10:50:00 (edited)

I didn't even know that wolves you can befriend even had rarity levels, but today I found a wolf when I was exploring that had a rarity of 6. I was very surprised to see when I befriended the wolf that it had absolutely nothing special about it. It only has the starter colors you can find on any other befriended wolf and absolutely no markings. I even did a full genetic report on it and it wasn't a carrier of anything! Here's the wolf I'm talking about: Wolf

I'm very confused and would like to know what the rarities are even about or if this is a glitch or something.

Anything helps!

Hiya!

Rarity 6/the shooting star symbol simply means it's a wolf somebody chased from their den. There are decent/unique wolves in the chased pool (and that's the idea of it! To have better wolves than what you would typically fine), but unfortunately a lot of former normal NBWs end up in there too. At level 10 you start being able to find chased wolves, and level 15 you start being able to find starred wolves.

This guide covers the basics of special befriendable wolves (note - personality does change when a wolf is chased, only the sex/markings/base coat/age remain the same).
