Change symbols for Chased Wolves

Change symbols for Chased Wolves
Posted 2021-03-08 06:45:41

Summary:
Change the symbol for a chased wolf, from a shooting star to something
else, and then also show the rarity star.

Explanation
I don't know about most other players here, but I can never look at a wolf and tell what its base or markings etc. are. And I definitely cannot recall which ones are rarer than others. So when befriending wolves, I rely on the rarity stars to give me a better idea.

However, whenever I come across a chased wolf, with the shooting star, I now have no idea what rarity this wolf is. Just because its chased doesn't mean its rare at all.

My suggestion is to add a new symbol for a chased wolf. Then show that symbol AND the rarity stars when you come across one.

Support! It would be nice to have a distinction between rare markings, a tier two base, and whatever else too. Sometimes I befriend a wolf solely for the purpose of reselling a tier two...only to find out that it's only a tier one with some sort of special mark. Not problematic, but just a bit inconvenient. And same goes for the chased wolves like you said; sometimes it's very obvious that they're a distinctive tier two (like a diorite or something), or have sought after marks like merle. But other times, they're essentially just starting wolves with tier one bases and three marks.

So maybe like, a rare marking could be a blue star, a tier two base could be a green star, etc. And those would show alongside of the new chased symbol you've proposed if needed be, or of course stack like the normal stars do.

I support. I’m still new wolvden and i can’t tell what a  rare mark and base are on a chased so i end up befriending them all to see and then chase them or sell to free up the pack slot again.

I like what @Star is suggesting. I like the color coding to show rarity

However,  I’m going to suggest  something a little different. So the current purple shooting star is a plain T1 chased wolf with no rare marking or eyes. Blue shooting start could mean it has one rare attribute (base, eyes, OR 1 rare marking). Green would mean 2 rare attributes(Ex Base and marking, or 2 marking etc). Red would be 3+ rare attributes.

I think keeping the current design of the shooting star might make this a little easier to do this change. Cuz there would be no need to design something new, it would just be coding, correct? Also players are already so familiar with this design.

No support. I think the guessing game aspect is fun! I like the spike of excitement being like "ohmygod is that a t3? is that merle? is this worth an autofriend?" And sometimes people post screenshots of the befriending screen in chat and we all try and figure it out together, which is fun too.

I second Lionel on this, it's the whole thrill of knowing. (My only beef is a recycled game generated nbw)

Oppose, basically because of what Lionel said. The mystery and surprise are the best parts, and for those to be removed would kill a lot of the fun.
