Wolves begin to die at 7 years 6 months, with a chance of death every rollover until they reach 8 years, when they will definitely die. Lead wolves will make it to 8 years, and I think your breeding male will too, though I'm not certain of that. 

breeding males follow the same as packmembers, with each rollover on/after 7y6m could cause them to die.

breeding males used to live until 8 years like leads, but since the change was made so that breeding males could be swapped out w/o dying and pair bonds, they've been given the same treatment as normal pack members ^^
