Theory: Dreamland Creatures are like Mantis Shrimp

Theory: Dreamland Creatures are like Mantis Shrimp

So we’ve all noticed that Dreamland is very, very blue. A few purples thrown in. But mostly a LOT of blue. I got to thinking: it’s gotta be interesting living there. With everything blue, perhaps they have other methods of detecting prey/predators (that almost entirely replaces sight) that creatures of our world don’t have.

And then it occurred to me. To US their world looks very blue. They may (like mantis shrimp) be able to see a wider range of colors than we can, and Dreamland to them may be very colorful like the waking world is to us. We just cannot perceive the light waves they can.

Someone watched the recent Life in Colour episode I see.

But actually taking this theory seriously, its possible. Since our wolves are from a different dimension(?) they may see things very differently from how the creatures in Dreamland see (or even how the world works, the plants seem to be doing fine despite having no defining light source, maybe there is plenty of visible/useful light to the denizens that our wolves cannot fully comprehend).

I actually don’t know what Life in Colour is, but I am a giant nerd so XD

Since everything there IS Lunar, the moon may be the plants’ light source (or perhaps bioluminescence from other creatures?). Also worth noting, with the plants being primarily blue and purple, it means they’re reflecting back (at least what we see as) blue and purple light - plants in the waking world tend to reflect back green, as chlorophyll absorbs red and blue light. So there’s probably some major differences from the waking world’s plants despite looking very similar to some of them.

Well, some of the plants may be very different.

Looking back at the biomes, there are definitely a number of green plants too. Perhaps they function similarly to the blue/purple, or perhaps they’re more akin to the plants we’re familiar with.

I also remembered there’s all those glowing particles (where do this even come from?). Do they produce the light that plants need to photosynthesize?
