" Snap out of it, Bella!" The queen ordered or I really an gonna choose to have you killed" she warned " now.. I want you to spy on your family for me. And get and info you can to see what they really want from me. But dont get close to them.. ok? But first eat up. you have a long day today."

"That's it? You could have just asked I know everything about the big plan." She continued to pace around the room, keeping the movement going. She eventually circled in to eat the food and drink something. She realized she didn't even eat the day she went to the Palace. Wow she was hungry.

She settled down, sitting on the floor.

" I know.. im sorry. well imma let you warn up and eat before I take you for your assignment. Knock on the door when ready" she then left and closed the door before sitting back in the chair and exhaled " This is gonna be harder than I thought" she said outloud

She paced around, blurting thoughts not too loud but just loud enough to be heard through the door. "What am I even gonna get from them? I know all there is to know! My Great Grandfather was killed for a crime he didn't commit, he was buried as a criminal and never got a proper funeral. They never said sorry."

She blurted out a few quieter things. "That whole mess is why I never got to do anything I liked as a child. It was work work work."

" I cant help you, bella. But if you do what i ask, you may go free.. or.. you can work for me in this palace and never have to worry about them ever again. But I need answers. So since you know..."

She opened the door and spoke a again " tell me everything there is to know. I want you to be free of this crime"

She decided to start with her Great Grandparents.

"My grandmother would always describe my Great Grandparents as two lovebirds. Always doting on each other. Until one day just like that, Guards showed up at their door and took him away. My Great Grandmother was devastated after she saw his execution. In a fit of anger, she plotted revenge but knew it wouldn't come quick. Her husband would be avenged, no matter who stood in their way. We still lived in their home, they had a piano." She stopped for a moment to reminisce. "I miss that thing."

She continued on.

"From that day on it was simple, each family member had a set of tasks to complete in their lifetimes. Each one who succeeded, would live and pass it on. Until everyone felt they were ready for the big event. That's where I came in."

"I didn't really feel like a child. I could only grow how they wanted me to, in the Art of Poisons and Medicines. My hands never touched a piano again, nor a loom, nor anything I once cherished."

Jewel sighed as she listened " well. if you do as I tell you, that may all change, Bella. I want you to have a life, a full life. Not a life or pain and misery. I will keep that promise. You will get what you ask, and more."

" As for now. go and get me updates on what  everyone in your family is doing. Do it for a few years for me, and you maybe, just maybe set free of this bondage from your past. I may even suggest that you work for me aft wards"

She opened the door " I have extra clothes for you to borrow if you want. Up to you." she said with a slight smile. She hoped her plan would work

She still saw no point in it all, but she kept that to herself. Nobody in her family is going to be happy to see her return. It was the Lion’s Den, as her grandmother so called it. She still didn’t fully trust Jewel, but rebelling is not an option. 

“No I’m good.”

She got up to pace the room yet again, before settling again against one of the walls. Drifting down into a laying position. 

" Alright then." Jewel said standing up  and walked to the door once more " Then you are charged with the murder of Queen Lilly. Also know as my Mother. 

She called for Jorvey and had her taken to a prison cell down in the dungeons. " You have me make no choice, Bella. But I will have justice.  Take her away, Jorvey"

She then walked away and out of the Palace 

She didn’t fight back, letting herself be taken. Even occasionally walking to her fate. She’s far from them now. But she will only truly be free in the grasp of death, for the things she experienced have long since passed, but lingering memories still remain.

She wondered about the documents on the desk, and the records ok the shelves of the dusty office. Had anyone read them? What would they think? The things they’ve done. The things she’s done. Her brother...
