Only finding critter trails in Desert

I have been hunting in the desert the last few days but my wolves have only found critter trails. Nothing bigger in at least 40 hunts. My party synergy is over 75%, I feel like I should be finding more. Is this a glitch or is anything bigger than a critter super rare?

I can't confirm the actual increase in difficulty, but as you go from easy to medium to hard to difficult biomes, it has been confirmed that it becomes harder to hunt. If you get all of your hunter proficiencies maxed and their synergy maxed, that will give you a better idea of what you will be able to get. It is likely that you will need a higher stat hunting party to consistently get the bigger scent trails in the more difficult biomes. Good luck!

Success in finding trails and hunting depends on proficiency, synergy and stats. The biomes ramp up quite a bit in difficulty, so if you have wolves with starter-level stats it will be difficult to find larger prey in the harder biomes even if they have a lot of proficiency/synergy.

Yeah, at almost a week in with only critters - but don't worry! all your large carcasses can come from the prairie, there's a bird on a skull that gives you them randomly from time to time :)
