from the first post's new TDLR:

* Special bases (such as Selene) can only pass if at least one parent has that base
* Tier III x Special is the second-best pairing to do if you cannot do Special x Special
* Tier I/II/III x Tier I/II/III will never make a Special
* Tier I/II/III x Special can produce Tier III
* Special x Special can produce Tier III in any colour group as they fail into them all equally, but only in a compatible shade from the two Specials

So my guess is, it's supposed to be possible??

@Storrie: Oh they must have added that. I read the TLDR list before, and I didn't see that in there. That is good to know! 

I think it's a new addition, I dont recall seeing it earlier!

I love the Selene base, and I want lots of Selene puppies, but I am glad it can act as a T3 as well! I would love to get an Opal out of my boy eventually. 

Same!!! I got it intending to use it on my stud but so indecisive cause I love it so much XD I want so many Selene wolves

Hmm. AS of yet I've only seen three t3s born to t3 x selene pairings and NONE out of selene x selene, and all three matched the base of the t3 mother. Either the rate is veeeeery low, or it's glitched.
