Enemies above level 20!

Enemies above level 20!

I was just thinking about the trophy issue - the way it's gradually statistically harder to encounter enemies that will drop trophies the higher your lead's level gets, and how that feels kind of counter-intuitive.

So, I was thinking that from level 16 onwards, it would possible to encounter progressively higher "super enemies." Still the same normal animals, just higher level. So, you could encounter enemies up to level 21 at level 16, level 22 at level 17, and so forth until the enemy level cap comes to rest at 25 when your lead is at level 20.

These difficult enemies:

- Would be guaranteed to drop at least a "low worth" trophy for your efforts (meat chunks etc)
- Would also drop rare trophies - not sure if this should be at an elevated rate or not
- Could have exclusive drops of some description? (Ex. a crafting ingredient that can drop from any "super enemy.")
- Would award more XP, and perhaps an extra chance for an additional stat point compared to normal level enemies
- Would make the player feel less at a disadvantage when it comes to trophy hunting, as all wolves that are able to find trophies would have a 10-level range in which enemies are able to drop them.

Problems:

- I think this might be something that's best to add at the same time as the planned skills system that was mentioned for leads, rather than into explore as it stands right now, since a lot of people currently have trouble with battling and "challenge enemies" would probably be better to wait till any planned changes to battling are made.

This seems like a great fix for the issue at hand.

That seems amazing! My lead is currently resting at a level 15 and since I’m very picky about fighting enemies(I won’t fight them unless they can either drop a valuable trophy or help me complete my daily quest), it’s been pretty awful to grind.

YES

I'm lvl 17 and it's harder and harder to get fox tropies ... Which is counter productive, cause I'm now scared to lvl up !

Also, the more you lvl up, the more healing salves you need for you battles ... But the ennemies don't drop more. That's also kind of harsh. Definitly the 10-15lvl are the best to get trophies ....

There are technically enemies higher than lv20 already! The encounters that you have to select an option to enter a battle (like the Climb the rocks one) can have enemies over lv20 (you can see the level in your user log).

So I don't see any reason not to have those higher LV enemies added to the other battle encounters too. Would definitely make trophy hunting a little easier!

Firstly, I'm pretty sure someone mentioned above that there are level 20+ enemies, but I don't think there is a way to know which enemy you will come across. Also, I personally think that adding the whole cap system (ie at 16 you can see 21, at 17 you can see 22) is far too complicated to integrate quickly. Though they did a tier system with the NBWs so I know it is possible, I just feel like it will be a slow fix if this route is chosen, as it will have to work differently.

Instead I would like to suggest having "Legendary" or "Trophy" Animal encounters. Each Biome could have it's own "Trophy Animal" and they could even be worked into events if done correctly! These encounters could have an Attack or Interact button. Attack would work as normal and could give chance for an exclusive trophy item or guarantee/high chance for a food/toy if won. Level could be randomized between level 20 to 25 to provide a slightly better chance for lower level players or could be at a stagnant 22 or 23, making them some of the strongest in the game still. Interact could give a simple randomized item: Food, toy, or even a recipe. This would keep low level players in the mix with this encounter!

Side note: Once Karma is introduced, having a high or low karma could trigger the event. Maybe attack for low and interact for high? I'm assuming at this point it will work similar to sister site lioden, but I'm not sure so this idea may not work depending on how/if/when the karma system will be integrated here.
