⚜️ The Big T3 CHASE! {Chat Thread} ⚜️

I'm confused why it matters that Orion has too many offspring. Are people trying to avoid inbreeding their wolves and that's why they don't want to stud with Orion or his sons?

@Yami generally, people are trying to avoid inbreeding... the more offspring a big stud has, the more likely it is that a wolf's lineage traces back to him. the gene pools can easily oversaturate with the same blood. especially if it's a T3 birthing more T3s, and then those T3s are all studs, that means there are multiple studs for a rare base related to the same stud :3 hopefully that made sense!

It's just that if everyone has wolves from the same lines and you want to avoid inbreeding, it becomes challenging to find studs that aren't related to your girls. The conversation started with talking about if anyone finds a chased T3 and makes it a stud, wouldn't everyone just rush to breed to that new line and cause the same issues all over again. Then whether or not you could avoid that by just selling offspring  - but all it takes is one prolific offspring and you're in the same boat. My first lead, Chime, has 6 pups to her name (and I kept 4 of them!) but one of those pups was Echo and the other was Penumbra who is Sunfall's mom, so ..... my sweet Chime only had 6 pups, but thanks to her two kids and one grandson, she is *everywhere* lol - me finding good wolves to breed my granddaughters and great granddaughters to that don't go back to Chime through either Echo or Sunfall, is becoming harder and harder.

Oh that sounds really inconvenient good thing there are a lot of studs being chased. So hopefully multiple people stud their wolves at the same time maybe? I'm sorry I don't fully understand how all this stuff works yet all I know is that T3s are generally seen as good things

Yes I truly hope (and I had commented this in the previous post) that no matter how excited we are about this or how much work & generosity those chasing put in, we cannot dictate how whoever finds these wolves plays & what they choose to do with them - can’t message or bombard them either way!

super stoked for this. love community made events:)

This is a great idea and I’m looking forward to hunting for the t3s, even though I know already I won’t find any as my luck is terrible.

My only worry is what this will do to the existing market for t3s. I was so excited to finally breed a Lily after spending a small fortune studding to t3s, then added a bunch of new markings to him with the intention of having him as my future stud and making some money back from him. However once people have NBW t3s and ones with short lineages, nobody will want to stud to him as he has a long lineage, so I’ll be forced to have his fee really low which defeats the object! So that’s a shame however it’ll be nice to see some new names in lineages :)

@Snow a lot of the T3s found during this event will most likely be private studs for a while, so hopefully you have enough time to get your return on the Lily stud... and there's a chance that the muted T3s in the project won't be found, so as sad as that would be there's still plenty of chances that your stud will be sought-after :)

@Snow! Totally get that, a lot of people will be in a similar boat. The issue is that the T3 stud market is even crashing, it was another reason for hosting this event, because a lot of us who had T3 studs with long lines used to sell out all our slots (inclduing refresh) and now you're lucky if we can even sell our first lot of slots even with super low prices :(
