Heat Bug? Or Expected Mechanic?

Hi everyone! I was tempted to report this incident as a bug, but things may be performing as expected. I've just never encountered such a thing before, and wanted to see if anyone else has experienced it!

I sex changed a male adol to female before aging her up with a crystal. I of course expected her to enter heat upon turning into an adult, but was surprised to see the "8 days until heat" message instead. Is this just a result of the items I used? Or is this a legitimate bug/glitch? or was there a recent change/update i missed concerning this sort of thing hskjdls

I just could have sworn I've used age crystals/sex changers before with no effect to the female's heat cycle once she ages.

How old was she when you used the crystal? Pups follow the 8 day cooldown-4 day heat cycle the adults have but just don't show it. You most likely aged her slightly too late to be in heat as she grew up. 

Oh really? I never knew that! I just assumed they always entered heat at 1 year regardless. Because yeah, it did use it a bit late- she was 8 1/2. Looks like I was about a day or so off then?

Yep, she would be on the cooldown part of the cycle at that age ^^ If you want to age up a adol and for them to be in heat you need to do it within a couple days of them aging up to adol (6mths old). 

Whack! That would definitely explain it though- and also why I've never encountered it before. I typically age them up right when they turn into adols, but waited a bit too long with this one.
