Starting to dislike this game

Starting to dislike this game

Anyone else starting to dislike this game? I've already spent $120 on this damn game to play it, plus some GC. (I shouldn't have. But I was way too excited.) I'm so far becoming a bit disappointed. Ive alresdy had 2 pup deaths even though i feed them, play with them, and they have a pup sitter assigned. Its getting old to roll over and have a pup die. Pups die way easier than cubs die in lioden.

Also the sicknesses? My same wolf has been sick like 3 times this week. And you have to diagnose it EVERY. TIME. And SC isn't easy to come by either. I know this game is still in development, but still. When you're paying literal money to play an ONLINE sim game, you should be able to be satisfied with the game you play. Ive seen dozens of people leaving because they diskike this game so far. I hope some things change.

Well on the pup thing, you do realize pupsitters only start with 60% protection, and that protection is split up between them, so a pupsitter with 60% coverage watching 2 pups will split it evenly between them, so that 60% total becomes 30% for each pup, and if they watched a 3rd it would be even further divided. My suggestion, if there's a pup you REALLY love give them their own personal pupsitter and either assign the rest to another or don't and just hope for the best. It is tough, but if you are careful to not mass breed, keep the mother at 100% mood and hunger (if the pups are not weaned), and keep the weaned pups at 100% mood and hunger, upon each rollover they get a 7% survival boost per rollover they are well taken care of. But sadly, the only way to guarantee a pups survival is a 100% coverage pupsitter watching only one puppy

The cost to diagnose will go down as your herbalist gains proficiency, and does eventually become free. :D Also, Cure for All, while a bit more expensive to make, once you are drowning in herbs (if you play regularly, eventually you will be) are worth a make, as you do NOT have to diagnose to use Cure for All AND it grants a 3 rollover immunity to all diseases for that wolf.

What those 2 said. Plus SC really isn't that hard to come by. I have no problem making 200-300SC every day atm and if you keep a small pack of 10-15 adults that should be more than enought o support you.

Maybe try reading some of the user made guides? I found them really helpful :)

I really hope you find a way to enjoy the game. Maybe give it another try after reading some guides.
I also think it's really helpful to not compare the game to lioden. It is supposed to be diffrent from lioden and not just a copy.

If you need some help or advise regarding making SC or your sick wolves etc., I'd be happy to help. I'm no expert on this and I think there is a lot of valuable information in the guides, but you're still very welcome to PM me <3

I totally understand feeling this way, but Wolvden is not necessarily Lioden. Wolvden is a lot more conflict-based, and it can be hard, but the good thing about all this is that the more you do it, the easier and more proficient it gets. I feel like you're supposed to feel helpless and you're not supposed to get everything you want right away. It's still in development, so we have to understand that other players are waiting to play it when it's intended to be played.

SC is scarce for a reason, so the market doesn't inflate wildly before the game even comes out. Puppies are hard for a reason, so the marking and base market isn't unbearably pricey. It sucks, but it's just what needs to happen.

Not to mention, Lioden has a HUGE overbreeding problem! The trading center is filled with cubs nobody wants, but the pup mortality chance is wolvden's natural way of preventing over population and having the TC being flooded with unwanted puppies. Due to the chance of death, this cause people to put all their resources on pups they want to survive, and leaving the unwanted pups either chased or neglected until death

Lioden does have a huge overbreeding problem as said above ^^ so I like that it's giving you incentives to breed smaller

For me, illness is kind of rare. I recommend making a quarantine cave if you haven't already so that illness doesn't spread ^^ (I only had 1 lead wolf illness and like 2? normal wolf ones so far)

The bigger thing with Wolvden that I have found is that it requires a lot more forethought with your actions (ie. digging through poop runs you the risk of contracting illness, thus making it a gamble to do so) and is not as casual as some other games may be. You have to be strategic with the choices you make, whether that be with what ranks you choose to assign to your wolves or, like the example above, choosing to risk a negative outcome to achieve a positive one.

One of the bigger complaints I have noticed around the site is the dissatisfaction with the RNG system, as it certainly can be ruthless depending on the day and I know that can be especially frustrating if you're already struggling to maintain your pack's health as it is. It sounds like your luck has been less than great with it, per the numerous puppy deaths and your contracting of illnesses back-to-back, and I'm so sorry about that - I can definitely empathize with you, and I know many others can as well.

Progressing to a point where you can comfortably play without worry of pack members starving or not being able to cure illness does take time, patience, and careful decision-making - like what others have commented above. Utilizing guides, especially those developed by The Grouse House, have been super beneficial for myself personally but that just may not be the case for everyone.

Your feedback is absolutely valid, this is still a game in development and its important to express your concerns so that kinks can be straightened and improvements can be made to the overall game play - I really am wishing you the best, you will succeed friend. As far as with the limited SC, I can only imagine the SC to GC imbalance will improve with the public launch as more players help to create a better economy.

I hope you stick around, I'll send some help your way to give a little boost for your pack. :,)

I would like to add we were only able to play this game for 11 days. That is really not a lot of time, even if you're online 24/7.

It takes time to figure out the best moves, stock up on items, build proficiency and so much more we might not even know about yet.

EDIT:  I want to add as well that you're valid if you feel like the game is not what you wanted or if dislike certain aspects. I'm just trying to offer a different point of view so you could come to enjoy it more and get some great stuff (and wolves!) for the GC you invested in it.

Indeed, I want to stress that you're not WRONG for feeling how you do, since I know people have come into this thread to point out different things and it's perfectly fair to feel annoyed or frustrated with some features if they aren't how you were expecting them to be. And, of course, there are likely to be things that may still need tweaking here and there.

The main thing, I feel, and is something that was to be expected, is that everyone expects Wolvden to be just like Lioden. And, as the devs pointed out in the News post, Wolvden IS different, and meant to be so. It's intended to be a bit of a slower, more difficult start. It requires a bit of patience and putting time into the game, allowing bars to fill and items to be gathered. It can understandably be frustrating when everything is new and everyone is excited and wants things quickly, but in testing I found that it does settle in fairly well once you give it a few weeks of time, and that a lot of the changes have been made to address things players complain about on Lioden (the economy, etc).

I do hope you'll take some of that into consideration and give the game another chance, and maybe hold onto some thoughts for suggestions when suggestion boards open up. c:
