Aspen | Eagleheart Leader | Encounters: Gyrfalcon (NPC)

"No...no, no no!" Aspen whined, rushing her pack leader's side. Gyrfalcon lay, gravely injured, on the bank of a small stream dyed red by the wolf's blood. Gyrfalcon's side had been shredded by sharp, angry wolf claws, and he had numerous other, smaller wounds all over his body. His breathing was ragged- Gyrfalcon was clearly dying. "Sh-should I fetch Tarkik?" She whimpered, already knowing it was too late. "I'm not ready!" Aspen cried. "Don't die, please..." As the last rays of sun were swallowed by night, the leader's last breath escaped his lips. Numb with grief and fear, Aspen grabbed the limp body by the scruff to drag it back to camp- her camp now. That murderer won't get away. She thought to herself. I'll find the wolf who did this and... who am I kidding? I would never kill anyone in cold blood- even if they were a murderer.

Abalyne | Crowskull Guard | Encounters: Feron (NPC), Oriole

Abalyne nodded slowly to herself as the loner stated all the information asked from her. With a bit of false spunk, that is. She looked over at her brother, who blinked three times in rapid succession. She blinked back, flicking her ears.

"First part adds up," Feron mumbled, eyeing Oriole's figure. "On the skinny side for sure."

"However, the second part makes me curious," Abalyne added, raising her tail lightly, disturbing the heavy mist. "I'd like to know your mother's name if you have any memory of her at all. In the meantime, we will escort you to Crowskull's camp for our Beta to interrogate you if needed. Your punishment will be decided by him." She huffed, and the siblings stopped on either side of the loner.

Feron tapped Oriole's flank with his tail, gesturing with his muzzle. "C'mon." He mumbled and started moving in the direction of the camp, definitely more by memory than by sight.

|Oriole | Loner | Encounters: Abalyne, Feron (NPC) |

The Crowhearts were ready to move, but Oriole was not ready to submit to them. The 'skinny side' bit didn't land well with the loner and neither did the mention of the beta. Crowskulls are no joke, at least that is what her surrogate mother said. "My mother's name was Shade, she left me in the care of a loner named Murk. Murk's dead now. I don't see the reason for punishment." She hesitated on the last word. Oriole took a step back- she was out of her element and certainly not ready to see the inside of the Crowskull camp. Her usual resort of running would be tricky to pull off.

(Sorry for the wait and short response)

Abalyne | Crowskull Guard | Encounters: Feron (NPC), Oriole

Abalyne's ears ticked back with slight annoyance at the loner's refusal to walk to the camp. She listened to her words, muzzle tilted upwards ever so slightly, red eyes gleaming with light disliking.

Feron huffed. "I faintly remember Shade, but I can't remember what happened to her for associating and intimately engaging with a loner." He shook out his fur briefly, and his topaz necklace swung too and fro with the movement.

"As far as punishment goes..." The brother continued, closing his amber eyes for a short time. He opened them to look over to his sister, whose maw was firmly shut. "I think it'll be okay if we just send her along with a heavy warning... maybe tell Second-In-Command Deathbringer a description of her? After all, she came here looking for food but didn't kill anything, nonetheless find anything, as far as I'm concerned." His stature was stiff as he awaited his sister's agreement or rebuttal.

Red met amber, and a sigh disturbed the mist. "I see the sense in your words, brother, and I've never mistrusted you." Abalyne looked over to Oriole, ears still back. She suddenly lunged and her teeth clipped at the loner's left ear, nicking a tiny part of the edge. It wasn't enough to make her bleed, but enough to leave a little mark. The sister of the two returned to her brother's side, and she huffed lightly.

"You are free to go, but the mark on your ear is a sign to other Crowskull members that you have been confronted before, and they will not be so merciful," Feron said in a low voice, and it seemed as if he were trying to suppress the light pity he felt for Oriole. "So long."

With that, the siblings turned and loped into the mist, back to their giant watchtower posts, no doubt.

Deathbringer

crowskull camp - clearing

mentions: beetle (npc)

Deathbringer paced around the clearing, awaiting his cousin's arrival. He had always been terrified of his cousin getting out of camp; especially now, being the only family he had left. He whined as he looked at the entrance.

At that moment, however, Beetle returned, a rabbit in his jaws.

He placed it down wherever-we-put-food and looked up at Deathbringer.

"Ey, death!" He barked. "You look like you've seen a ghost, ha."

Deathbringer giggled. "Yes, I suppose." He hugged his cousin.

"Well, I suppose you need rest.  You were out there alone." Deathbringer said. Beetle nodded and headed off to sleep for a bit.
