Show Instances of Inbreeding

Yaaaas Greahound  :D

and No, we already have enough to pay for esp in turf slots and the like. We don't need another SC sink esp when it's just a simple togglable feature that would make our lives simpler. No fee or scrying for my side Period.

I would like to be able to see it on the wolf's page if it was inbred, bonus points if it will tell me there's inbreeding far back in it's gen.

I like greahound’s idea! Perfect compromise.

Yeah.

SC is already a bitch to get on this game, the last thing we need is another SC sink. Well said.

@greahound⚡

That's an amazing idea actually!

Everyone wins, and it's convenient. ^^

a toggle-able NIB option is a good idea, i'm all for that. if it does end up being something like scrying i have the same opinion of it as i do hunting compatabilities/FAPA, which is that.something that can be done without the service should be free of charge. either way both of these are more unobtrusive and feel less of a forced playstyle than directly putting it on wolf's page/heritage, so if they were implemented i'd have little problem

I'd love to see a check that only goes an established number of generations back, say 8. I know, people who like "squeaky clean" bloodlines are looking for something more accurate, but having a cutoff would help establish a somewhat more reasonable criterion for avoiding inbreeding.

Having NO features about inbreeding just results in people having to obsess over it manually just so their wolves will not be devalued, and having to learn a bunch of "famous names" of wolves that were bred too often, to avoid them *anywhere* in their ancestry. Having a feature that promotes an established rule on what constitutes inbreeding would maybe help the average player stop worrying about it past that number of generations! (After all, even us humans don't really go check that far back, you've probably heard that like 1 in 200 men are descendants of Genghis Khan).

That is also not punishing players who don't mind inbreeding, and not really harming players who do wish to look miles back in ancestry.

Edit: That this works is kinda proven by how things work in other pet sites. Flight Rising for actually restricts inbreeding up to 5 generations removed, but as a result people don't care about further gens, and having a famous ancestor can bring a pet pride instead of shame.

As a side option, maybe make this a new feature of the scrying stone? Have the ability to check 5 gens/10 gens/all inbreeding, for rising SC costs. That way people who want to save time can pay for it, and those who don't care don't have to see it at all.

1000% support.

For someone who wants to play with NIB wolves in their pack (I don’t mind if someone else has IB wolves in their pack or wants to inbreed with my stud though!), it would make it a bit easier to check if a wolf is inbred or not for their entire family history. The site is a few months old now, but in a year a wolf’s family could be generations and generations long. I personally don’t want to look on every lineage in a wolf’s family tree if I know a code that already exists that could be used.

Additionally, I’d prefer if it costed nothing. Lioden has it for free, so why would Wolvden make the users pay for it? Along with that, I’d rather not scry for it. It’ll just cause the same issue that taking a screenshot while scrying for albino/melanism did if it isn’t displayed past that page. Either it needs to be on the wolf’s main page or family page.

A toggleable option could be useful in the case if someone doesn’t want to view it from their account. (It would still show up for other uses who have it enabled though.)

I would like a way to see NIB vs IB that doesn’t involve me sifting through piles of pups. I don’t personally care but if I’m trying to sell a pup it’s a pain in the butt cause everyone else seems to. 😂 it’s surprising that me that this isn’t already a thing considering it’s on the sister site.
