Helping newbies (lighthearted)

Heya! I'm a newbie and I keep hearing stuff about the site being overpopulated with cubs, and a bunch of other things that people say that makes me go "what's that?" so, in this forum try your best to explain everything that's happening!

Sure!

So far, the game is dealing with a big overpupulation problem, which has unfortunately brought down values of wolves down so low that people struggle selling puppies (and older wolves especially!) even if the trade is refunded (1SC buyout with 1SC in trade to cover the BO) - even T2s (uncommon bases) are dirt cheap, and even the TIII fox base and eyes genetics are falling alarmingly cheap for it being new and all (a week or three old), because as well with the overpopulation, a lot of people simply don't have enough space for all the wolves the community has bred and is struggling to sell. Some people take it into their own hands and buy "potato wolves" off the TC to chase them, specifically puppies, especially if they are 5SC or lower, but it doesn't help as much without a system to give up pups that'll give a compensation reward for doing so. Right now, mostly only mutated wolves, high stat wolves (450+ now...), carriers (of recessive mutations), and rarer traited wolves are being bought, whilst all the rest, even stunning wolves, seemed to be ignored.

At the moment, only the people who either get super lucky or spend crap tons of money have the high grounds, whilst the rest of us seem to be stuck in the crosshairs. Can't get any higher, because once we reach a certain point, all of a sudden the expectations are much higher thanks to those who keep on spending their money on this game for what is going to have value and what's most likely just not, so alas... The game isn't P2W, but hey, this paragraph shure makes it seem that way.

As a small pack, I suggest remaining that way for a bit, hold off as much as you can on breeding until you have 15 or so slots. This will make it easier on yah. Save your SC! With territory slots being locked behind a constant paywall to get another and it being super expensive as you get more, you're going to need that SC. I suggest once you reach 10 slots, focus on getting stocked up on SC. Buy another slot here and there, but for now, focus on making your current wolves stronger rather than breeding more up that you'll, sadly, probably will just have to chase later with how the market is currently. Stock up on food! Thankfully as a small pack, you're not going to need much food for yourself, so sell your surplus! Once you've finished feeding for the day, save 10 uses of food, sell all rest. Meat chunks, eggs, and fish all should be and be the only things you ever sale to the Raccoon Wares, otherwise you're losing on money. NEVER sell anything other than food in Raccoon Wares! Instead, utilise the Trading Center. For amusement items, each entertainment item goes for 5 SC per use of the item, which you'd only get 5 SC or less if you were to sell the item to the Raccoon. 4 use carcasses I find sell best at 10-15 SC, or some sell for far more. For example, the critter agouti goes for 40-60 SC, depending on the market! You could sort of guess for the rest based on uses! (Some 1 use carcasses also go for 10-15 SC - always sell these more than 5 SC at least! It's always good to check the value of the item by checking out other trades of the same item in the TC search and comparing prices)

If you hadn't already chose a Breeding Male, I highly suggest waiting on that, unless you are absolutely sure you want to put a certain male in that role. You do not want to mess up on who you choose, as it will be awhile before you could choose another... Unless you give up a good amount of GC. A month of rolling over your account, pair bonding would open up. At this time, breeding would be a bit more of an open option for you, as hopefully, you should have a little more than 15 spaces by then! I still suggest however to limit yourself as much as you can, because again, room runs out fast

That's all I could think of to say for now, but for further information, I highly suggest checking out the Grouse House guides! Brought to you by beta testers and up to date with the most accurate information known by the community, these guides will help you for all your Wolvferden needs!

Feel free to ask questions if you're confused on anything, and I'd answer as best I can!

Finally, welcome to Wolvferden! I think you are going to like it here a lot, Bunny. Wolvferden, however chaotic the marketplace could be with values, is a great and welcoming community that is always willing to help any player that is struggling. I'm sure the market, as many other oddities and struggles with the game, will ease up as more updates and more content is introduced over time, which I'm sure would eventually settle the puppy issue of the game's. I know if karma is introduced in the way I think it will, a LOT will get better when it comes to puppies flooding the TC.

Always feel welcome to shoot me a PM if you need help with anything at all, and I'd do my best for yah <3 I have tons of amusement usually, and food is no problem for me, as long as I decide not to starve my pack in favor of the silver!

I meant to do a TL;DR, but looks like I got a little carried away with that post. Sorry about that, and of course, you are very welcome!
