ive seen many main wolf hp regeneration suggestions, and i honestly agree with a lot of them! just wanted to add a simple idea i had to the mix, as i don’t think its been suggested before (not in the masterlist/any hp threads ive seen, but could very well be out there!)

regenerate a portion of HP every time you encounter an explore option that increases the energy beyond its limit, and vice versa for energy, as well as some hunger benefits.

i think the gradual regeneration once your energy is maxxed is a great idea, but i also understand the point of having that be considered rather easy to do completely idle. this would allow some opportunities to regenerate whatever you lack at the moment if you’re lucky enough to go over your max!


some specifics...

1. when you run into an explore encounter that grants you any amount of energy that goes beyond your 100% (i.e a 7% boost at 96%) you regain 10 HP! *(could be lowered!)

2. when you run into an explore encounter that grants you hp that goes beyond your set amount (i.e 5 HP when you are at 40/40) you get 1% energy for every excess point! 

3. when you run into a food encounter that brings you beyond your 100%, you have a 1/4 chance to gain the amount of excess in HP or energy, with a 1/4 chance for both of those and 2/4 for nothing! (i.e getting 8% hunger on 98% hunger would give you 6 HP, 6% energy, or nothing)


some explanations/potential questions...

  • “liz, wouldn’t you only be able to do option 1 at the very beginning of you exploring? you can’t max out your energy in an encounter if it’s lower than 90%!”
  • precisely! some of the qualms with hp regeneration suggestions is how easy they are to come by. that is not what i am debating, i have no issues with it, but i hope to provide another potential option nonetheless! this makes it accessible and free, similarily to the random explore encounters. due to how uncommon that is, the rate of HP i pitched is higher than what is usually granted by existing encounters!


  • “why so many different options for hunger?”
  • it does seem complicated, and like every idea in this post certainly needs tweaking! my general thought process is that it is super common to have food encounters on 100%, so adding an aspect of randomization would very much help keep it somewhat challenging; especially with a half chance of having nothing happen! additionally, if food was set to regenerate one of the two specifically all of the time it seems like you’d very quickly run into near unlimited energy or HP from my experience with explore xD

As for the first point, I think 10 HP is too much. 5 might be better. Everything else I support.
