Pupsitting Interface Improvement, Please, I Beg You

Pupsitting Interface Improvement, Please, I Beg You
Posted 2020-12-09 18:33:54

So I am currently juggling 31 puppies (20 more on the way...) between 10 pupsitters.
The current pupsitting interface is absolutely n o t friendly for more than a few pups!

I may be losing my mind.
First, I learned Excel just to make a complex Pupsitting overview;

because the in-game one is inadequate at helping players optimize pupsitter protection and give most, if not all, pups 100% survivability.

This adds up to A LOT of work for me personally because I update and shuffle pups around every day as their survival rate improves, to ensure that I have enough for everyone. I can't imagine what other people who don't have time for obsessing are doing!

Not only do I have to;

  • Update the survival rates in my sheet, add any new puppies, change pupsitters/update pupsitter protection rates
  • Move around pups in my sheet until everyone has 100% survivability (unless those I choose to prioritize less, if need be)
  • Access every pupsitter's page and unassign their puppies(!)
  • Wait until certain pupsitters regenerate enough energy(!!)
  • Assign the pups to the correct pupsitters one by one with nothing but their names (!!!)
  • Check my den to ensure nobody is still at risk (!!!!)

And because I have certain difficulties digesting large amounts of text/lists without extreme color coding (see sheet above, I will get lost in the letters) I repeatedly assign wrong puppies to the wrong pupsitters, forcing me to remove them again (and then if the pupsitter doesn't have enough energy, I have to remove ALL the pups again and wait for the pupsitter to regen their energy) and then reassign them, and go over everything again, and again, and again...every day.

Not because I have to, granted, but I want to.

Point is, it could just be so much easier?
So, please, developers, I know it's been said by others, but let me say it again, we need this!

First of all, we need to be able to do all of these points on a single page. No going to individual pupsitters, no checking protection rates and survival rates in other places. No excessive, obsessive excel sheets.

What we need;

  • The ability to see every pupsitter and their protection rate in the pupsitting tab
  • The ability to see all puppies and their needed protection in the pupsitting tab (preferably include thumbnails for easier selection)
  • The ability to see how survivability improves, how much protection each pup gets, if all puppies under a pupsitter reach 100% or not
  • The ability to assign and remove puppies back and forth without saving the edits, thus not removing pupsitter energy before you're 100% sure everything is correct
  • For pupsitters to be able to regain energy towards a certain threshold (say I have a pupsitter at 50% energy. I assign him two puppies. His energy regenerates until he reaches 80%, until which point it stops regenerating because those last 20% are perpetually spent on the two puppies. I can still assign him 8 more puppies before his energy reaches 0% instead of only 5 (and having to remove all pups and wait before he can take on 10))

This is a massive Quality of Life change that I think everyone needs in the nearest future. I might have missed something since it's 0230, but will update if I remember something. If anyone else has any good additions I'll be sure to add them!

Thank you!

Support. While you lost me on the Excel sheet and all that, I get what you mean. I had 8 puppies the other day and struggled a lot while trying to protect them due to the options being scattered in so many different pages. I eventually chased them all, so now I only have two, but I still cannot imagine how people feel when they have multiple. So, here's my list of things that should all show in the pupsitter tab:

  • A list of all available pupsitters + their energy level and protection percentage.
  • A list of puppies (WITH ICON PICTURES TO TELL THEM APART) + their current protection percentage, as well as the percentage of protection that they need to reach 100% survival chance. — (ex. New Puppy currently has a 45% survival chance, and needs 55% pupsitter protection to secure guaranteed survival at the next rollover.)
  • A way to "test" a pupsitter-puppy pairing's total survival chance BEFORE saving the page and therefore assigning the puppy to the pupsitter. I assigned my puppies multiple times to the wrong wolves, which wasted tons of energy for absolutely no reason other than my own poor math skills.
  • A list of all puppies already assigned under a pupsitter + their current survival chance, as well as a way to remove these puppies from their pupsitters IN the pupsitter tab itself rather than having to visit the pupsitter's page.

On another related note, I would like it a lot if there was a quick and easy way to check on a puppy's page for 100% protection. I don't like having to hover over their bar. Perhaps the bar could change color based on how protected the puppy is. (ex. Red = dangerously low protection, orange = low protection, yellow = moderate protection, green = guaranteed survival) or (ex. Yellow = less than 100% survival, green = 100% survival).

There are a few points on this list that are left off from OP, but these are what I myself desire BADLY. The rest I am neutral on, or it doesn't affect me.

Support! i swing between having 4 to 20 puppies at all times and it can be such a big headache, honestly just an "auto arrange" option to give everyone about the same survival chances would be a great band-aid until they get enough time to do a bigger overhaul like this, or an option to prioritize pups youre going to put for sale or keep once they wean (so those get a waranteed 100%, and the non-prioritized one like those youre going to be auto-chasing and are just for the extra pupsitter exp)

Great idea. You also lost me at the excel LOL, but I super support what you said needs improving. Having a functional Pupsitting tab in your den would make a world of difference.

absolute support. I have an awful, awful memory, and I can barely memorize my favorite pups' survival, not to mention the pups I want to sell. I would get so much less heartache from dead pups if all of the pupsitting stuff gets moved to the pupsitter page.

Support! Definitely need the ability to juggle everything from one page instead of having to dance between multiple pupsitters, the general pack page for survival-rate check, then the "general pupsitter page" x,x

Enthusiastic support.  This is hard enough with six pups and only five actually needing protection because one is maxed and just has protection for extra pupsitting practice. I don't want to know what juggling a whole breeding project is going to be like.
