Help Figuring Out Stud Male

Help Figuring Out Stud Male
Posted 2020-12-08 09:24:16 (edited)

Hello! I just wanted to get a lot of people's advice about stud males! My pack is slowly coming together, but I'm holding off on breeding anyone until I have my stud male figured out. Currently, my pack is mostly muted and monochrome colors. The males in question are (adult scries):

Muted Medium: 7m, 288 stats (Honey)

Cool Dark: 254 stats, 7m (Skarn)

Warm Dark: 239, 8m (Dinar). I'm admittedly partial to this fellow and this is a scried image with his marking opacity changed.

Who seems best to mate with a more Monochrome / Muted pack? Which of these bachelors seems most appealing?

Hm, admittedly, it will come down to what your breeding goals are. If your plan is to breed the rarer T2 bases, your best bet is to stick to the general color group (Monochrome/Muted) of the wolves you're breeding to. And staying within the group is recommended in general because the results will be more predictable in nature.

All that said, I suggest going with what your gut tells you. Pretty wolves will have pretty pups regardless of color groups and rarities. So if you don't have a stringent breeding program, then just pick the wolf you like and you're guaranteed to have pups you also like!

So do I need to breed Monochrome x Monochrome to get a Tier 2, or can it be mixed, Monochrome x Muted and still get Tier 2 of either color?

So, don't quote me because this is going off of only what I've observed, but I think you get better results from sticking to Monochrome Dark x Monochrome Dark, and more of a chance to get a Tier II, rather than pairing a Monochrome Dark x Muted Light, for example.

Though, this Grouse House Genetics Guide may help with this a bit more :)
