Prey Rarity [Seeking Contributions!]

Question, do you think seasons might be a good addition to the survey? It seems like a possible cause for different hunting, although I could be wrong and they’ve already debunked it ;-;

@PersonallyBuoyant#20683 It's possible, but at the moment it doesn't seem likely that it affects prey rarity, it seems to only affect the likelihood of succeeding in a hunt.

Submitted my first entry from the coniferous forest, & tracking so I remember to continue entering hunts. ^^

Something I've noticed: it seems wolves in multiple roles only gain proficiency from the first (leftmost) role. I have a stalker-chaser with much more proficiency in stalking (in fact she has 0 chasing proficiency despite often participating as a chaser, though she always participates as a stalker), and a chaser-finisher with much more proficiency in chasing despite always finishing (and he always finishes but doesn't always chase, which I believe is what allows him to infrequently gain experience). So it seems that it's optimal to have each wolf doing only one role (so 5 unique wolves or 3-4 with one wolf doing all the chasing).

Hello @Mossfoot#23226 ! Thanks for the information! I was referencing the Grouse House Prey Items spreadsheet, and they didn't actually have this information there, so I'm very glad to have uncovered some new information. I'll manually input your submission there into the form for you as soon as I get that updated!

small update for all! I've included a changelog, I've created a list of additional threads looking for contributions (please note my other thread is currently the only one on there; I have a list prepared but I am awaiting from users to get their permission. I promise it is not there only for myself!!)

I also would like to request, since you all have been absolutely amazing in submitting data to me (which I am in the middle of interpretting! I am taking the time to make sure I explain it correctly and have analyzed everything correctly), that you check out my thread gathering research data about the rarities of battle encounters. With the recent fox update, it became clear that there is a rarity of certain encounters, and thus I wanted to research further into this; and so far, with the preliminary data I gathered myself (over 200+ explore encounters recorded), there is a strong indication that there is in fact rarities. The form for this thread is much shorter, and like the prey rarity thread here, it will be mainly passive; simply submit as you decide. Thank you all very much!

Keep an eye out for the prey rarity update. I have received over 850 submissions from you all, and have definitely been able to note fairly "final" rarity odds for a few biomes, particularly the starter biomes. With winter break and with my job going on holiday, I have plenty of time to sit down and get knee-deep in the data, and plan to get some results and data pumped out in the next few days. Thank you again everyone for all your hard work and data!
