An Idea

An Idea

So, I know it may be like hard to code and stuff, but I think one day, you should make it an option to be able to reset your account. Wiping all the progress and getting to restart! :3 I know I would love to restart- but I cant, so this is just an Idea that I hope you might one day add!

I do actually like this idea. Especially being you can't have a side account like on LD. It would be fun to restart without having to chase all your wolves and trash your stuff. However, their should probably be some confirmation to ensure you don't accidentally do it without thinking or on accident. Maybe an email verification code and a little 'are you absolutely sure you want to start over from nothing'

Also not 100% how hard this actually would be to code as they mass wiped players to the start during testing so the code Is their, just needs adjusted probably.

I would like to know why a feature like this should exist. Is there a good reason to be able to reset your account?

I don't think that a person not liking the wolf they designed is a good enough reason to create a feature like this. As that is simply fixed by getting GC and just changing your wolf's looks.

Some people, at least me, get bored with a game after they've achieved a lot.

In LD, once I felt like I had my dream pride and the things I wanted I got bored with the game and then moved on to my side pride until I eventually just left the game. To me it's just a matter of keeping things new and giving you the joy of building your pack all over again

I'd really like this too! Especially as Wolvden is still very new, sometimes there are updates that come out that change my entire plan/make me regret choices I made earlier when I was still figuring out things or unable to do things.

I wouldn't mind as I reset a lot of games for the reasons others have already stated. However, I don't know how this would work with lineage?

@QueenOfFrowns (#3910) I see it working somewhat like chased wolves? Like they just disappear from the game but show up in lineage?

This is a very good idea, I see players talking about wanting to completely start over all the time.

Massive, Massive Support

I feel like i messed up on my gameplay recently and i want to restart it all over so i can do better and there's quite a few choices i've made that i wish i didn't make that will stick with me. :(

This is obviously a personal decision for a player and i love the idea of getting a verification as well so you don't accidently delete things.

As a former tester i can for sure say that when we got things wiped, it felt Amazing, liberating in fact, to start over since even in testing before we knew things better, there were mistakes made during our testing gameplay. It felt like a brand new game where we can do things 'right' based on how we wished to play while testing things out that round.

Now obviously i do want to say that perhaps there can be a cooldown for how recent or frequently you can restart if the staff is worried about abuse. Though, this is wiping things that you have done and even accomplished to restart anew (Hopefully with a lot of 'are you Sure you want to do this?' buttons and the like)
WD is indeed different from their sibling LD as we have no side accounts but what about a complete restart option?

(LD doesn't have that
Wish it did though a lot of games seem to not have a restart button i noticed but some to many have a delete account button)

I feel like the reason account resets aren't allowed is that it'd let people bypass the GC fee for setting a new lead/stud. New players often don't like their basic leads and/or set a stud too quickly, and the high GC cost to switch gives them an incentive to support the game. (Which is good for the game, and good for all of us.) If they could just reset for free, they're less likely to buy GC.
