Hello everyone! I'm Wren. I just joined last night. I'm so excited to really sink my teeth (puns!) into this game. The art is so gorgeous, and it makes me really nostalgic for how much I adored wolves as a kid.

I've combed through some of the amazing guides kind users have put together, and it's definitely helped a lot. That befriending chart is open in another tab while I type this! I do find myself with a couple of general questions though if anyone wouldn't mind lending a hand.

Right now I currently have 2 wolves that hunt, 1 that scouts, and 1 that pupsits. I apologize if this is incredibly common knowledge, or if it was listed in one of the guides and I missed it (there's admittedly so much to learn ahhh) but is there a certain role I should prioritize right now? Especially in the early game/levels.

If anyone has any other general advice or help they'd like to share, I'm always happy to learn! I just don't want to be a bother. I hope this was the right place to post this, and that it made sense. I hope everyone has a lovely day! ❤

Hey Wren, fellow birdie! I'm FlyCatcher!

Sounds like your balance of roles is pretty good right now! Every role is important, but you'll do just fine with a balance like that. I would aim to amass a full team of hunters as you progress to make getting food easier on yourself. And then down the line as you get more wolves, you'll probably want to have fun breeding new puppies - who doesn't? - so it's important then to have a sitter or two around to spread the protection out as much as possible.

Having the max # of scouts isnt as important early on, I've found, so that's the only thing I'd say you won't need to worry about! All in all, the balance of sitters to hunters is something that'll probably fluctuate as time goes on and you're able to determine what you need. My main hunter team is the one I've had since the start and they're awesome. Only just now are some of my pups growing up to form the second!

I hope that helps ^^

Ah! It's Bird Time :D Hello FlyCatcher!

I appreciate your help so much, I can't tell you how much it means to me! I'll stick with my one scout for now and got super lucky and found two wolves to befriend, so now I have four hunters ^^ Unfortunately, it seems one has a personality that doesn't mesh with the others... so I made two hunting parties instead because I'm worried they would just fight. Though I'm wondering if one big party would be better... I might noodle around with the results and see what I get the best results from.

You helped me so much, seriously! I appreciate your kindness and patience with me ^^

Hey, anytime!! Your hunting parties will evolve and you'll figure out how best to organize them in time. If you need a reference on how personalities work, check out the Grouse House thread on personality in the User-Made Guides section of the game.

Actually I'll save you the trouble and LINK it!
