The newly appointed warrior felt...proud at such an achievement. His whiskers twitched as he looked around as the ceremony was dying down and he was given some praise along with other newly appointed warriors, including his very own friend Hopeflame. However, things were returning to normal and duties for the day needed to be done. He stretched with a soft groan as he lashed his tail and flexed his claws, soon relaxing before he straightened up. Right, perhaps he could see about joining a patrol to either hunt or...or patrol the border.

A soft sigh escaped him, more bemused than anything, as he trotted away from his spot to see about volunteering for a patrol. Then again if he wasn't needed anywhere in particular he could always see about venturing out himself. However, his attention moved to another young warrior like himself, ears perked as he tilted his head to the side slightly. Oh, perhaps...

He flicked his tail and trotted over, tail raised as the tip curled a little. "Hey hey there, sweet whiskers! Oh, sorry Seeptail." He grinned as he purred playfully, stopping before her as he remained standing. "Busy with anything? Couldn't help but see you all by your lonesome... I bet you'd just love to be graced by the oh so awesome," he paused to place a paw on his chest, "Shadeheart... For a patrol?" He threw a playfully flirtatious wink at her, setting his paw back down on the ground.

'Seeptail, Wow! What a name!'

Seeptail was bursting at the seams with excitement. Her paws bounced up and down, her ears were flicking uncontrollably, and her whiskers twitched. The ceremony had been better than she expected. What she wasn't looking forward to though, was the silence vigil tonight. Luckily, it was still sunhigh, so she and the other new warriors had some time. She looked around eagerly, hoping for something to do. She saw the fresh-kill pile was fully stocked for at least half a moon, and all the other warriors seemed to be busy themselves. Her old mentor, Rosewhisker, bumped her flank one last time before heading off to do some business of her own.

Seeptail flexed her shoulder blades and paused to look around again. Shadeheart seemed to be heading her way. She perked her ears and stood, smiling slightly at her fellow new warrior. Her face changed when he teased her with his flirtatious words. "You're a mouse-brain, I think YOU would be the one being blessed with a she-cat by the name of Seeptail joining you on a patrol", she playfully purred back. She shoved him over as she headed towards the exit of camp. "Well, are you coming or not Shadeheart'", she emphasized his name mockingly as she padded slowly.

He blinked a couple of times as he heard her response, having not really been expecting such a response before he flicked his tail. Well, that was...something. Though a small noise escaped him as he was shoved over, rolling onto his back as he stared, a bit flabbergasted, at the she-cat heading towards the exit of the camp. However, at her next words he huffed and rolled onto his stomach before pushing himself up, lashing his tail a couple of times before he bounded after her. "Well, at least I was named after my dedication to my clan than...my tail." He responded, tilting his chin up as he waved his tail a couple of times as if to back up his words.

He paused before he grinned and bumped his shoulder against Seeptail's, his own tail lashing a little. "Race you to the water!" He chirped, not really waiting for a response as he took off running. He was honestly all over her mocking and own teasing as it was in his nature to be playful, such as he was now with a friendly race. "Winner gets to pick what to do!" He called over his shoulder, just wanting to make the most of the day before they had to sit vigil that night.

She snickered as he fell on his back, then turned back towards the exit. Lots of cats were in and out of this area, and now, she finally got to go out without a mentor. How exciting?! She whipped her head at the grey tom. "Hey! I wasn't named just because of my tail!", she frowned, "My characteristics and abilities are balanced, and our tails are used for balance. DUH!", she spat at him, aiming a harmless swipe at the tom's face. She huffed and flicked her ears annoyingly.

A long pause went by before Shadeheart bumped shoulders with Seeptail and bounded off. Seeptail barely heard him before he took off, but she bounded after him anyway, assuming it was a race. Her slim build made it easy to catch up, but harder to surpass the tom. She was nearly neck-in-neck with Shadeheart, eager to beat him to the river. She smirked at him as she caught up, ears pressed firmly against her head. Just then, something up ahead caught her eye. She squinted hard to see, and once she realized, she tried skidding to a stop, but she was too slow. "DANG ROCKS, CURSE THE EARTH". Her voice could be heard from the bush she rammed into.

Seeptail pounced out of the bush. SHe was still determined to win, no matter what obstacles stood in her path.

Shadeheart released a cheery laugh as Seeptail had indeed joined him in the race he had initiated. He glanced towards Seeptail as she managed to catch up to him, a smirk crossing his face as he pushed himself to run and keep the lead. However, a noise escaped him as he veered off to the side, skidding slightly as he almost crashed into the same bush that his current companion rammed into. "Oh, thank Starclan!" He puffed out, glancing towards the bush as he paused slightly to see if she was okay.

However, a grin crossed his face when he spotted her pounce out of the bush, turning to take off once more. "Maybe I should go slower just for you!" He piped up, barreling past a couple of their clanmates, not hitting them thankfully as he just ran past them, to try and get to the river. He jumped over a small obstacle, ears twitching as he heard the sound of the river up ahead. "I can hear it, any moment now!" He called out, though he made the mistake of glancing over his shoulder again and tripped over his own paw.

"Uwaagh!" A yelp escaped him, causing him to tumble head over tail and, well, crash land. Oof... Yeah that was hurting. His head pounded as he laid still for a few moments, tail lashing slowly a couple of moments as he blinked a couple of times. A soft groan escaped him as he pushed himself up slowly, no doubt losing the race by that point. He shook his head, some grass and a couple of fallen leaves sticking to his fur a little. "Grrr... Clumsy paws!" He gave a pointed look towards his own paws before he took off once more, aiming for their destination once again.

She snickered behind her shoulder as the grey tom skidded off course and nearly into the same bush Seeptail was in just split seconds ago. Seeptail ran as quickly as she could, her feet barely touching the ground. She scanned the area in front of her briefly before determining she wasn't going to go tumbling....again. Seeptail pinned her ears back and glared at Shadeheart's mockery. "Shut it Shadeheart". She yowled as her paw pad was pierced by a thorn. She kept running but was also now...hopping? She paused for 2 seconds and violently shook her paw until the thorn went soaring into the undergrowth. Then, she resumed her thumping paws, but now Shadeheart was a good fox-length in front of her. She growled competitively and went bounding past the Tom who was now tumbling like a, well, tumbleweed!

She watched in shock as the dark tom tumbled and just, sat there. She could barely pay attention to the trail in front of her as she stared at Shadeheart. She flicked her ears forward. She could hear the ambience of the river. "Score!", she yowled, a couple of bear-lengths away from the sounds. She skidded to a stop at the riverbed, paws in the water now. She stood and shook her silver pelt. "Haha! Couldn't keep up, could you Clumsyheart", she joked briefly before approaching the dark tom. She circled him, inspecting for injuries, no matter how minor. "You alright there?", she asked, panting and still with a small smile glued to her muzzle.

Shadeheart allowed himself to slow down in the chase once it was apparent that he had lost the race. He couldn't even respond to Seeptail's yowl as he approached the river, soon dropping himself to lay down as he panted, a bit out of breath and sore from that tumble too. He turned his gaze towards her as he listened to her speak, managing a soft chuckle. "I'm fine, nothing too bad. You won fair though!" He piped up, flicking his tail a few times before he dropped his head to his paws with a soft groan, the tip of his tongue poking out as his sides moved in time with his breathing.

At least he got a moment to catch his breath. Though... "Hey, you okay there too? I mean, you did crash into a bush last I saw." He mentioned, lifting his head to look at her. "Lay down, O Great One. Give yourself a break after winning the race." He added, grinning as he patted the ground with his paw a little.

The sound of the river flow by them was nice to say the least, along with the birds singing in the branches and the somewhat distant sound of the waterfall that concealed their home. It was pleasant and it was what made it home for the both of them.

Seeptail rolled her eyes and flopped down next to the grey tom. "Who, me? Yea, I could race you 10x in a row if I had the chance", she said competitively, still panting. "And you're right, I did win fair and square. We both took a tumble there", she laughed gently. She rested her tail on the tom's hindquarters and lay her head on her paws.

The ambience of the river was soothing, and not to say, beautiful. She gazed over to Shadeheart, who was also taking in the scenery. Suddenly, her heart jumped. With wide eyes and an odd feeling, Seeptail jumped to her feet and turned away from the dark grey tom. "I- uh, So I get to pick today's agenda, right?", she said with an overexaggerated confidence. "How about a nice patrol along the two-leg place?", she asked, choking on her words.

Shadeheart couldn't help but snort in amusement at her first set of words before he shook his head a little. "I'll get you next time. Just you wait!" He spoke up, throwing her a wink as he crossed his paws as he just relaxed where he was at the moment. He took in a slow, deep breath as he closed his eyes. He was content with losing as it was a fair race in the first place and they had a nice place to enjoy regaining their breath at anyway. His tail twitched a little as he felt hers rest on his hindquarters, but he didn't make any movement to move away from it or push her tail away. After all it was just a harmless touch, right?

He hadn't even noticed Seeptail taking in their surroundings as he just remained where he was with his eyes closed, at least that is until he noticed her jump to her paws. He blinked once and turned his head to look at her, ears perked as he listened to her words. He pushed himself up and leaned towards her, a small smirk on his face. "I mean, that is what I set as the prize for the victor of the race..." He spoke up, flicking his tail as he backed up a step and then tilted his head to the side slightly at the location of where she suggested they patrol. Hmm... Well, they'd be fine, right?

He eyed her quietly for a few moments, having taken note of the way she choked on her words before he took a step towards her again and reached a paw out to touch her shoulder. "You sure you didn't hit your head or anything?" He questioned her, pulling his paw back after a moment as he moved to circle her a little. "I mean, if you're sure you're fine I can't deny this patrol along the two-leg place. I'd say I'd race you there but I'm all out of running right now." He piped up, chuckling a little as he stopped moving.

Ah, well, he'd improve his stamina over time; just not this day. He turned towards the direction of the two-leg place, trotting ahead a few paces before he slowed to a walk. "Come on!"
