Warriors: Divided Flashback | Shadeheart x Seeptail

Posted 2020-11-18 22:51:47

Seeptail turned with Shadeheart towards the direction of the two-leg place. "I mean, I doubt we'd run into any trouble, plus,"", the she-cat looked towards the sun, "the sun will begin to fall soon, so we'd better get going before we have to be silent all night" Seeptail wasn't looking forward to the vigil tonight. Although she could be silent for hours, today has been so eventful that she is hardly able to keep still. The Russian Blue she-cat flinched at the touch of the tom's paw. She locked her yellow-green eyes on his Aqua eyes. "I am perfect!", she squeaked. She coughed aggressively, clearing her throat. "Fine Perfect I am Heartshade". She paused for a moment, flabbergasted. What in Starclan's name of word vomit did she just speak??

After a moment or two of standstill, she burst out in laughter, stomping her paws on the ground, tail whipping through the air playfully. "BAHAHAHAH I'M SO SORRY I DON'T KNOW WHAT I JUST SAID", she yowled in laughter. She stuck out her tongue and the end of her giggle spell and began towards the two-leg place border. "Well, we best get going", she said, getting rid of the last of her laughter. She paced herself to a slow trot with Shadeheart and they padded off towards the border.

Once they arrived, she sniffed around. "Everything here smells alright. All I hear is the ordinary begging kitty-pets. What do you think?", she asked the dark tom curiously.

Shadeheart paused when Seeptail spoke...something. He blinked a couple of times before he erupted in laughter along with her. "Ha! I don't think I've heard anything like that before!" He laughed, rearing up slightly as he grinned. "Come along then, Tailseep! Let us be off before the vigil begins!" He joked, having found the lighthearted amusement in her jumble of words.

As they headed off in the direction of the border, Shadeheart couldn't help a few giggles escaping him before they eventually died down. That was certainly something that would stick with him. An inside joke perhaps for later use that would probably grant them strange stares but it would be something they knew at least.

Upon arriving at the border, Shadestep paused and opened his maw to taste the air before his nose wrinkled slightly. "Eugh...smells like two-legs and everything...two-leggy." He muttered, shaking his head a little before he walked away a few steps before crouching down. He remained there for only a moment, wiggling his butt as he shifted his hind paws, before jumping up to climb onto a low branch to better see the two-leg place.

"Nothing seems out of the ordinary. Just some fat kittypets soaking up the sun just outside their two-leg nests." He reported, twitching his ears before he glanced down towards Seeptail. "I don't know how they do it honestly, I mean I heard their food is just rabbit droppings!"

Seeptail whipped Shadeheart with her tail playfully as he addressed her as "Tailseep". 'that's going to come back to bite me in the tail later', she thought. At least it would be a hysterical type of inside joke. The type where everyone around them would look shocked and confused while they laughed their tails off. She sighed, smiling. That was a nice thought.

Seeptail followed Shadeheart up the tree and opened her maw. "I don't think the stench is THAT horrible", she said, pawing at him. She scanned the two-leg nests. A large, white fluffy cat sat sunbathing in a restricted area of its nest. How horrible! She turned to Shadeheart as he spoke. "Precisely. I couldn't stand to be restrained and eat rabbit droppings. Uh-uh! I need meat. m-e-a-t", She mocked a prim-and-proper kitty-pet voice and threw on a faux-disgusted face.

Seeptail climbed to the top of the tree, where green leaves lay, and proved comfortable for her to sit on. She turned her ears to the sky and listened. Birds faint chirping, The wind whistling through the canopy of leaves, and the occasional sound of a two-leg monster roaring past. The smells were all over the place: The stench from a near-by thunderpath, the salty scent of the river, and the scent of flowers. "Maybe they don't have it so bad if they are born into it", she sighed.

Shadeheart stuck his tongue out a little at the comment on her not thinking the stench was that bad. His tail flicked as he turned his attention back towards the two-leg nests, an ear going back as he spotted a white cat inside one and a two-leg moving around in there. Just how could they do it? A soft chuckle escaped him as his mind was pulled away him his thoughts upon hearing Seeptail speak about how she couldn't stand to be restrained and eat rabbit droppings.  "Exactly! Out here we're free to eat all kinds of meat! Fish, birds, mice..." He trailed off as he tapped his paw against the branch he was sitting on as he named a few prey that they consumed.

He watched as she climbed higher up in the tree they both rested in, his head tilting to the side slightly before he turned his attention back to watching the two-leg place. His ears twitched at her next words, the dark grey warrior silent as he thought about it for a moments. "Maybe... I mean, it isn't like they've ever experienced the wonders of being in a clan." He paused before he shrugged a little, shifting to stand so he could turn around. Not like it was any of his business though, they were missing out on just living free and getting to eat more than rabbit droppings.

He moved to get out of the tree, taking a few moments to get down carefully before he looked back up again. "Hey, come on! We should walk along the border a little at least before we have to get back to camp!" He called up, raising a paw a little as he flicked his tail a couple of times.

Seeptail nodded as Shadeheart spoke. "I'm sure if they experienced our life, they wouldn't go back", she laughed. She nodded and jumped down a few branches, carefully. "Aye, aye sir Tailshade", she laughed, bumping into him playfully. She started to pad in the opposite direction of the waterfall. "Should we get some prey on our way back?", she pondered out loud. "I mean, it wouldn't harm our reputation as new warriors", she laughed gently.

"If I made a prediction, I'd say Hopeflame is going to be the leader in many moons time", she smiled, thinking of the russet warrior. "Honestly, she's good at everything!". She imitated a hunting pounce and a battle stance as if showing Shadeheart everything Hopeflame was good at. "All I want is to be a warrior and fight side-by-side with my clanmates, to be honest. I don't care about climbing the ranks almost at all", she sighed.

"But, what about you. Do you want to be a future leader or deputy?", she asked, setting her yellow-green gaze on his dark fur.

Shadeheart paused briefly at the mixed name given to him, laughing as he playfully bumped her back. "Clans are just too good for those kittypets, Heartseep!" He grinned, padding back with her towards the waterfall where they lived. He flicked his tail and scoffed softly, nodding his head though in agreement to her words of hunting on the way back. "Yeah, I think that's a good idea. It'll definitely give us the chance to be warriors at a good start!" He responded, waving his tail eagerly.

He went quiet as he glanced towards her as she spoke about Hopeflame, his ears perking a little before he smiled and nodded. "She's amazing! Wouldn't surprise me if she managed to become leader some day. Maybe Starclan is running with her." He mentioned, pausing in walking to watch Seeptail imitate a hunting pounce and then battle stance. A light laugh escaped him briefly before he lifted his gaze to look up at the sky peeking through some of the trees. "I'm not entirely sure if I'm being honest, Seeptail. I'm honored to be a warrior to help protect and provide for the clan. If Starclan wishes it, I'll take whatever changes come my way in stride." He lowered his teal gaze to settle on Seeptail, giving her a small smile.

He gestured with his tail towards the waterfall, looking in that direction as he began to walk once more. "I'm not sure if I'm skilled enough to be either at this point. I mean I know you said future but..." He trailed off with a small shrug, content at the moment. "What's good for the clan is good with me!"

Seeptail nodded. "I would do whatever Starclan asked, but I'm not leaning towards that life. or even wishing it", she sighed. She smiled back at Shadeheart did the same. She paused with him, and she looked back at the waterfall that concealed their home. "Samesies!", she teased, trying to ease up the serious conversation. She opened her maw to taste the air before flicking her ears. "Smells weird.", she mewed before sniffing again, scanning the border. "I imagine it's just the rogues that reside in this area", she eased up on her hackles.

She threw her head up and looked to the sky. "We should head back soon", she meowed, flicking her tail towards the slowly darkening sky. She turned around and flicked her ears, listening for the scurry of little legs. A small squeak was heard from a nearby bush. She dropped into a crouch and motioned Shadeheart to do the same. She approached the bush lightly and pounced. She clumsily tumbled behind the bush. Her silver head popped out of the underbrush, and luckily, a small mouse lay prey in her jaws. "One point to the amazing Seeptail, 0 to the slightly-less-but-still-amazing Shadeheart", she teased him, shaking the leaves and dirt off of her pelt.

"You know Shadeheart", she spoke through a mouthful of mouse fur, "Let's keep each other safe throughout our warriorhood". She looked at the grey tom with wide eyes. "We need a signal, or sign, to let each other know we need help or that we are there, hiding in the shadows. What do you think?", she asked the warrior. "You aren't allowed to die without me", she joked.

Shadeheart chuckled at her tease, grinning as her attempt to ease up the serious conversation, that he probably caused from his own response, worked. He walked a few steps and glanced towards her at her comment, pausing to open his maw to taste the air as well before he flicked his tail a couple of times. "Huh... It does smell weird... Probably the rogues like you mentioned." He responded, shrugging a little as he put an ear back.

His attention moved back over towards Seeptail as she spoke, nodding in agreement to her words on heading back. He made no movement as his eyes followed her, just watching her movements as she dropped to a crouch, soon following her in that motion as he perked his ears. He watched her clumsy attack behind a bush, soon grinning as she appeared with a mouse in her jaws. An amused snort escaped him from the tease, the tom pushing himself up with a flick of his tail.

"Oh, yeah not for long O Great One..." He responded with a playful smirk, raising his head to sniff the air for any small prey. His eyes flicking towards her as she spoke once more through the mouse fur, chuckling a little as he nodded. "I've got your back and you've got mine." He confirmed, pausing as he flicked his tail and raised a paw, flexing his claws a little. "A signal... We've gotta come up with something! Uhh... Toads!" He giggled, setting his paw down as he twitched an ear.

He then turned away and crouched down, stalking away as he had caught the scent of a bird. He kept himself low to the ground, slowly inching towards it as he unsheathed his claws. After a few moments he pounced at it, his claws reaching out to grab it midair before he landed on the ground and gave a swift bite to the neck, some feathers on the ground after the initial spook. "Can I hear a tie? One to one!" He announced, dropping the bird at his paws as he waved his tail happily.

Toads? "Wait, why toads?", she cocked her head, "You're a toad", she joked. "I can't even sound like a toad, how am I supposed to signal you with, well, Toads?!?!". Even though Shadeheart's giggle, Seeptail was deadly serious, and, confused at that. She sat down, still pondering while Shadeheart pounced on a bird. "Look at you. The amazing Heartshade catching Blue Jays", she laughed, standing up. She whipped her head up. The sky, from what she could see, was darkening to a low, deep blue. "We should be going now".

Seeptail began towards the faint ambience of the crashing waterfall and gestured Shadeheart with her tail to get going. She picked up her mouse and padded slowly towards camp. "Well, how do you feel about tonight's vigil?", she asked through a maw full of mouse.

Shadeheart snorted at her laugh, tail lashing a little as he raised a paw and pressed it against his chest as he smirked. "The best at catching blue jays, Tailseep." He purred, chuckling as he lowered his paw to pick up the bird he had caught. His ears twitched as he heard her question then, nodding his head a little. "Yeah, time to go.." He mused around the bird in his maw, walking with Seeptail back to the cavern.

"I'm almost afraid I'll fall asleep during the vigil!" He flicked his tail before he shrugged a little and continued on. "I'm sure we'll be fine though... I mean we can't talk during the vigil but yeah."
