How Important Are Stats?

How Important Are Stats?

I just found this beautiful girl in explore, but her stats are below 200. Is it a big deal if she starts out low since she can level up and become better? Would you recommend not breeding her until she has higher stats?

Depending on the studs stats I'd wait to breed. Stats play a big role in the 2 major roles, hunting and scouting specifically. For hunting i find stalker to be very important especially for finding better trails, chasers can be a bit more lax cause theres 3 of them, so if one is bad it wont mess up too much. Finishers are gonna struggle till their strength stat is higher.

Scouting is a great way to add stats, but I wouldnt use her as a scout if you still have biomes left, since glacier needs 101 in the strength stat alone, and the rainforest has a similar threshold. But both of my scouts are original NBWs that have gained about 200 stats each and are at 400.

But stats can definitely be worked on. Pupsitting doesnt really require stats, but also isnt great for stat grinding, and I know herbalists tend to get wisdom stats, but I'm not sure what it effects.

Basically it's up to you how much you want to invest in your wolf's stats to make her useful in a certain role. If you have your roles filled and just want her for breeding, I'd say her stats wont be too big of a deal but the puppies will have lower stats

It'll lower the pup's stats, but how much that matters varies. I know I care far more about looks than I do stats. Other players are the other way around. If you really want her to have good stats scouting is definitely the way to go - I've gotten one of my wolves from level 1 to almost all the way to level 5 in two days by having him scout. And it gives a more even stat distribution. @Phantom StarsX makes a good point about not being able to scout some biomes with a lower level wolf, but you can have two scouts, so you can use your other one for that, or just wait until she can manage it.
