Base Tiers

Base Tiers

I can't quite seem to find the answer to this...

If Tier 1 bred to Tier 1 equals more Tier 1, how does one get Tier 2 and Tier 3 bases? Is it just a very slim chance? An item that changes the base?

Thanks!

Grouse House guide on breeding here!

Some Tier 2 bases can be obtained through the wolf Customizer; others can be found on special NBWs. From there, it's possible to get additional Tier 2 bases that are breed-only.

AFAIK nobody has any Tier 3 bases at the moment and it's uncertain how they will be obtained.

Ok, so I'd have to find a wolf out in my explorations that already has Tier 2, then breed to other wolves to then pass on that higher Tier?

Base genetics are a little more complicated than that, but essentially yes- you need at least one wolf that's already a Tier 2 base for the possibility of breeding more Tier 2s.

Your lead wolf needs to be at least level 15 IIRC before you can start finding the special NBWs, but if you don't mind wolves who already have a family tree, fortunately lots of other players are already selling Tier 2 puppies, and some of them can be had for under 100SC. You can browse the Trading Center, or take a look at wolves for sale on the forums!

I figured out how various base genetics work, but somehow totally missed how Tier 2 and 3 come around. I've basically got all the Tier 1 bases I like covered with the wolves I have, but eventually will want more variety.

Thanks for your help!
