What is the dumbest question anyone has asked you?

Posted 2020-11-09 11:59:31 (edited)

This isn't exactly a question, but I figure it's dumb enough to be included here. When I was like 16 or 17 I randomly found a balloon on the ground and for some reason picked it up (keep in mind it was fully inflated) and my mom looked me straight in the eyes and said with genuine sincerity, "Cecilia, don't put that balloon in your mouth."

Not really much of a question as per say a moment where I went, "they actually think I'm speaking truth". I blame my knack for remaining straight faced and serious while completely joking around.

I was joking around with my coworker about a week ago, and I told him that nukes were *like* hurricanes. If you stand directly under it (the vessel), its got an "eye of the storm" where everything around you is impacted but you aren't; and that's how you survive a blast. (like how the eye of the storm is calm in a hurricane. directly under the bomb you're safe.)

And he looked me dead in the eyes and went "wait, really? like I can survive a nuke?"

I was silent for a moment, just in sheer amazement, before I said "no."

This man is a grown adult. I feel awful for tricking him.

Its not a question but its the most dumbest thing i heard from a person "I just found out the holocaust was a thing."

not gonna lie, I don't blame them for wanting it to be a horror movie script. The holocaust is pretty heavy stuff and its hard to believe anyone could ever commit such heinous atrocities. ^

@comatoast: I honestly shouldn't be surprised. I hate to be *that science major* but he's a business man, and I'm a chemistry and environmental sci major. Last semester he knows I studied nuclear energy extensively. I can't blame him for thinking I was speaking from expertise. I just thought I made it so outrageous that it couldn't be perceived as true.

I can really only think of one but it happened a while back when I had gone to the store. I have a few piercings but the main one everyone notices is my Bridge piercing and most people just ask if it hurt or if it was hard to care for but the guy at the store saw me and was like:

"Can you still breathe with that?? Like through your nose?"

I still laugh whenever I think about it lmao

^ No kidding. I just had to watch a documentary on it for school and it showed some extremely disturbing clips. I kept having to look away because I felt so sick....
