When should I nest my lead wolf?

Is it alright to wait until the rollover before she's due to give birth, or should I nest her now? Also is it alright to battle while she's pregnant, or is there a risk of losing pups?

While I don't know what happens in a battle with a pregnant female (I'm assuming there is no risk) you can nest her the night before the rollover happens. I usually wait until the last day with all my females and then nest them before rollover.

Lead wolves and pupsitters are exempt from the rule that nested females cannot perform their role. So you can nest her as soon as you'd like!

Battling does not make you lose your litter, only giving birth not nested has the possibility to do so.
