I'm sure some of you also have pet bunnies.
And and I wanted t create a space where everyone can show off their special bunnies.

Wheter they're big, small, fluffy, smooth, shy or enthusiastic, show their photo's, talk about how they became your bunny, what you do with them, and anything and everything else related to bunnies!

Just be respectful to everyone, espcially since there are a lot of different opinions on how rabbits should be kept. Advise may be given, but stay respectful.

I'll start this off with my bunnies, but Beware! It's gonna be a long story!

These are PomPom and Dot. Pom's the big albino, which leaves Dot as the small one!

I got Pom in June last year. I am a voluteer at a small wildlife sanctuary for birds, hedgehogs and occasional other small animals. Including pets that a dumped on the street, picked up by Animal Control and brought to the sanctuary.
Pom was one of those dumped animals. He weighed around 600grams and was estimated to be about 2 and half months old. He's now over a year old and weighs more than 6 kilo's! I'm pretty sure now that he was actually younger than 2,5 months when he was brought in.

When I saw PomPom for the first time, that little ball of floof, I was in love and I knew that he was My Bunny.
A few months before I did an internship at a Rabbit Shelter, and not one bunny there had given me the feeling that Pom gave me when I interacted with him. There was another voluteer  that expressed interested in taking him in and I actually felt physically sick knowing there was a chance that he would not go home with me. Luckily for me, fate decided otherwise and two weeks, and a serious conversation with my parents, later, PomPom came home with me.

Then after I had him neutered, I went looking for a girlfriend for him. A friend of mine work at a Petshop about a hour away, and they had a small white female bunny that she thought would match Pom's personality quite well. A week later I had arranged a meeting, and I went with Pom to the Petshop for a meeting between the two bunnies. That went really well and I walked out of the Petshop with two bunnies, Pom and his new girlfriend.

She was going to live inside first, because at the time it was winter, and Pom was living outside with his thick wintercoat, but Dot, as I named her after a few days, was not prepped enough for the harsh Dutch winters. Every few days I would let Pom and Dot roam around in a pen I had set up in our storage room (the coldest room in our house, to let Dot get used to the cold) By summer they were ready live together in the hutch outside.

The hutch outside is, unfortunately not as big as I would like it to to be, but I still live with parents and I can't take over the whole garden for my bunnies, but as soon as I am living on my own, I'm giving them their own room in my appartment, house or wherever I may end up. Luckily my mom is also starting to see that they need a bigger hutch, so when the current one falls apart, where gonna build one from scratch that's gonna be more suitable for them.

I'm also clickertraining and targettraining Pom, and so far he can jump hurdles, walk over a seesaw, stand on his hind legs, and there was a short while that he came running when you called his name.
I can tell he's having fun doing it because he when he spots the targetstick and goes to run after it, his ears perk up and the stick gets his full attention. It also helps that he'll do anything for snacks. XD

ohohohohoh i have been called :D

i love your two snowball bunnies 🥺🥺🥺 they're so precious omg,,

i got my first bunny all the way back in april 2015. i was around 12 years old then, its kinda wild to think abt. he was a beautiful blue rex called snoopy!! unfortunately he came from a really crappy breeder, and suffered w dental disease. his teeth were really misaligned. eventually i made the decision to let him go may 2017, he was so miserable and i just...knew, honestly. he wasnt going to survive surgery to remove all his teeth since that was our last option. a life of dentals every 2-4 weeks just..wasnt a good one to live;;;

he lived alone until october 2015 when i adopted him a friend, Luna, from another person (breeders granddaughter). she was in a really miserable state. 80cm cage. no hay. no toys. no food. she was p much kept in a dark room and washed in the sink daily;;; her fur is *so* damaged and she had sore hocks, nails almost growing into her paw. i couldn't leave her behind, so her sorry ass came home w me.

Luna was petrified of everything, me, the world. taps, shower, boiler, cars, grass. she was super duper aggressive. i spent a lot of time working with her & helping her navigate the world

turns out, Luna is completely blind!! she has no retinas. we discovered this after Snoopy passed. smth didn't seem right. turns out she completely relied on Snoopy to get around. her fear of the world makes sense (esp after such a crappy life). i now talk to her a lot, and she trusts me fully, she looks to me for comfort in her life! she also communicates by stomping to let me know she's on the move :D

she's sorta my little genetic failure & has cost a lot of money,, but i love her. she was diagnosed with arthritis at 2.6 years old, so shes on long term pain relief for that. she also has acute respiratory inflammation, likely caused via allergies, but allergy medicine has been unsuccessful (as has changing everything). likely she's allergic to something we can't fix like grass, dust, fur. consequently she's on tramadol (10-60 second sneezing fits multiple times a day doesnt rlly help arthritis) & is nebulised daily.

ofc after Snoops passing I couldn't leave Luna alone,, so naturally another bunny joined our household :D I adopted Orion in january 2018!! hes such a sassy little jerk, gets very jealous of not being center of attention (but also doesnt wanna be touched LMAO). he actually ruined my phones camera by cracking the glass when he yanked my phone out of my hand bc he wanted attention 🙃 i dont have a lot to say abt orion bc hes fairly healthy, he came from a super good breeder;;

Luna and Orion both live inside in a 5ft x 5ft pen!! Snoopy was outside but I hated it, so eventually he came in to be bonded with luna. not like she could stand outside anyway!! her coat is very thin and doesn't protect her against the wet (she just looks drowned).
