New daily snake quest ideas

Posted 2020-11-06 09:41:52

I would love more quest variety and particularly like the idea of quests revolving around scouts and herbalists. Getting game scores (when applicable) also sounds great.

I personally dislike the idea of trading quests (I might end up accumulating things I don't want), befriending quests (I only befriend in very specific circumstances and would have to chase the results, which I dislike) and pup chasing quests (I keep all my pups).

These are selfish concerns particular to my playstyle, however, and I recognise that. I wonder if an add-on to this idea might be a mechanic that lets you re-roll your snake quest once each day - you would get somewhat reduced rewards (reduced by 1/3 perhaps?), but would be guaranteed to get a quest of a different class to the first one.

Just a thought, admittedly not thought through for any length of time.

Support that quests could have more variety and would be nice to avoid task overlap.

Don't really like the idea of trade quests. What would be the parameters? Making the quests? The trade being bought out? Too much risk for spam (people overpricing trades and cancelling to not lose their stuff) or failure (no guarantee anyone will take a trade even if you label it 'for trade quest'). I like playing WD cuz I can keep trades private between my friends. I don't want to nag them or throw stuff up to strangers for a quest.

I also don't think that chasing would make a good quest in any way. Not every player will have wolves they are willing to chase, or territory space to snag an NBW for such a thing (plus wouldn't that just make uninteresting NBWs go into the chased pool more than we currently already have?). Idk, it just does not sit right with me, so I think it should stay something personal and for the player's decision only.

@junko enoshima

Don't worry about it! It was just a random idea you came up with.

Hey, that's totally okay! I don't think we meant to pile on to you like that. Sometimes suggestions have more support than others, I know some of my mine had some great counter-arguments recently. We're all just spitballing here :)

it would also be nice if we had a second spot for more "special quests" like quests that are supposed to take longer. i.e. the befriending wolves. But they need to make the payout worth it since it requires using wolf slots. and wolves take two hours before we can say goodbye to them.

@junko enoshima: I wouldn't mind a level up quest for subordinate wolves. Maybe level up any two wolves once.

@Monster Pack: I like the idea of longer/more difficult quest having a different section/greater payout.

Hmm, level up seems like it could be an issue if someone has a mature pack of high-level (or even level 20?) wolves - I think at higher levels leveling up happens a lot less often, and of course past 20 it doesn't at all.  But I suppose it could be scaled so only people with reasonably low-level wolves get it?
