Hunting in harder biomes?

Hunting in harder biomes?

Hi! So, I recently moved to the coniferous forest, which is a medium biome, thinking I would be prepared for it. But I've been having a LOT of trouble hunting. I have a hunting party with 100% synergy and all the wolves have 100% proficiency as well. They are all over 400 stats. And yet they haven't been able to catch even ONE single large pray, and I've tried many times. They fail like 90% the times they go for medium and even small pray, and they even fail sometime with critter (like once or twice a day).

I don't have any clue if this is supposed to happen this way. I'm afraid I won't be able to feed my pack now when in the easy biome I had far more food than I needed. I just can't believe there's such an enormous difference between an easy and a medium biome. So, does anyone have any tips on how to get more succesful hunts in these biomes?

NBW hunters don't have the stats to catch larger prey regularly in higher biomes as far as I know. I know mine struggled in the Desert.

Mine did fine in the RW though, so I don't really know.

I don't know any trick but training her stat pups to be hunters.

Biomes with higher difficulties have a significantly harder time in hunting. Having a team of 300-400 stat wolves that were bred whilst I was holed up in the Taiga gave me nothing but critter trails for a solid week, and I was lucky to even catch anything. Granted they had 80% or more synergy, but since moving to a lower difficulty biome -event at 86% synergy- they managed to find small-large trails no problem and might miss a catch 2-3 times a day compared to 80% of their hunts.
