Old Applicators, New Markings

Old Applicators, New Markings

Event applicators like the Lunar Events ones are really cool, and a lot of the colors are super pretty. But since their initial release, a lot of super cool, event applicator exclusive markings like Wild Stripes have been released. Hell, a lot of really cool markings that aren't exclusive to event applicators have been released too! And personally, I find it a little bit sad that those old marking applicators don't get to have some of those newer, fancier markings. Which is why I want to suggest adding new markings to old event applicators, every now and then! It would add more unique customization options, and more worth to older applicators!

For Lunar Applicators, I think every Special Lunar Event would be the best time to add new markings to old applicators, since all Lunar Applicators are released during those. Since we have a ton of Lunar bases, I'd say 2 applicators could receive 2-4 new markings during the Special Lunar Events that they would hypothetically receive those new markings.

For yearly events like Coigreach could get new markings for old applicators each year, starting with the oldest set of markings, then the second oldest bases the following year... Though for events that had only recently been added to the game, such as the Matchmaker event, I'd say hold off a year or two before starting to add new markings. That way it's not just the previous immediately getting new markings, when there may or may not even be any new marking types to add to them. The amount of new markings would also be 2-4.

Also, with the power of IbisPaint X, I've even cooked up some examples of old bases with newer markings! In order, these hypothetical markings are: Airglow Pulse, Artemis Wild Stripes, Diana Orca, and Selene Shimmer!

Alternatively, they could release a second version of those applicators with a different set of markings.

That could work, but I also feel like it would be a little silly to add whole new applicators for a new set of markings though. And that would probably be a little more coding work than necessary, considering that would require them to add whole new items instead of updating already existing items.
