Returning player, absolutely lost

Returning player, absolutely lost

Hello!! I am new, kind of? I was a beta tester/one of the first players but I have absolutely no memory of anything/don't know how to do anything. Never clicked with WD so I never truly learned the old basics, and now there's a bunch of new stuff as well?? 😭 i don't even know what questions to ask to get started. I'm just super confused and lost.

Hi! I played during closed early acess, so I'd imagine what I remember is pretty close to what all the beta players remember

the game has changed A LOT (definitely compared to what we had when WD first launched)

I noticed that returning players are having a hard time figuring out how to start again, a lot of my EA friends have dropped WD because they feel overwhelmed by how much new content there is.

I strongly recommend going back and looking at all the development update news posts. I know most people don't like reading and digging through old forums but it's the best way to catch up on everything that's changed.

But the biggest changes since beta are probably these! (that I can remember)
- You can have 2 scouts now, and send out up to 4 hunting teams at a time (how many you can have though depends on how much territory slots you have.)
- Pairbonding, pairbonded wolves can breed. This means you can make a breeding pair and breed wolves without the male being a stud
- Socializing, improves wolf relationships within your pack, there's quite a bit to it
- Puppy training, pups can train and get stat boots now
- We have a few monthly events now! And a mini lunar event every single month that lasts a week
- Player guilds
- mini-games
- so many new bases/markings/ect.. there are also now T3 and T* bases!
- Raffles
- Whole lot of new decor
- Quite a few wolf mutations have been added
- We got wolf poses now

As for where to start, I'd say just focus on the basics. Sending hunting patrols, sending the herbalist out/crafting medicine, scouting, exploring. You'll always need supplies, and if you feel lost, you can never go wrong with keeping yourself stocked in the meantime

Thank you! Tbh what's changed isn't a huge issue as I don't even remember what it was like before things changed
I am very active on LD so it's going to be really hard to adjust to this. I'm going to try my best though! I saw some people in one of the servers I'm in talking about WD a lot lately (you know who you are if you see this! ❤️) and I'm super interested ack.

The thing that's REALLY getting me is how overwhelming everything is. I guess the best way to figure things out would just be to poke around and see! I will definitely be sending out hunting patrols and all that once I have the wolves to do so! :D Thanks again! <3

:D I'm glad to see you're interested in trying to get into this game, and just in time! The monthly lunar event should be happening any day now (the 20th I believe..) and that is the PERFECT opportunity for you to make a lot of GC/SC really fast. This month's lunar event is most likely going to be a 'special' one, because of the irl solar eclipse! This means every item from previous lunar events will be for sale, which normally isn't the case. The lunar event is every month, but the shop with it changes every time and months could go by before we see the same items again.
The things you'll want to focus on getting are the base and marking applicator to sell
I could also be completely wrong about this month's lunar event being 'special', but it most likely will be

A month long event is also coming up soon! If I had to guess, it'll be in May

If you have any questions though you're more than welcome to DM me! :D
