Using Cures on Undiagnosed Wolves

I just wanted to jump back in and add that I don't think if you use the wrong cure the wolf should be penalized. The penalty is already that you used a cure that didnt't work and lost the item.

Agreed - I like getting the symptoms and the art changes, but they feel pointless if we're forced to officially diagnose the illness anyway. It would be nice if we could actually figure things out like Tala said we could.

Yeah - if you give them the wrong cure - then its only fair you lose the resource. But if you manage to get it right first try, you save time and could even get some sort of bonus?

Thinking of them like pack doctors, if they see enough 'exposed tissue, deep wounds' symptoms I think they'd right away recognize it as a 'Open Wound' every new one they saw.

Support! I’m sure the diagnosis feature would still get plenty of use, especially with the illnesses that have symptoms in common with several others. If a wolf has an open wound or something, it’s pretty obvious what needs to be used, and they shouldn’t need a diagnosis. I do think it would be interesting to not always get a notification right away if you got it wrong... perhaps a wolf’s wound was infected and they didn’t realize it, so after using an open wound cure they’re still sick on the next rollover, or maybe that mild cold turned out to be influenza and it has now spread to another pack member. That, along with having a negative effect (such as gaining another illness) for using the wrong cure, would be a good incentive for people to still get a wolf diagnosed unless they’re absolutely certain.

Or maybe it can be like - you go to herbalist and can either "ask" Herbert to diagnose your wolf for sc,  or, when your Herbalist at least 30% profiency or more, you can quess what illness your sick wolf has, and "diagnose" yourself for free (maybe limited time in a day). If you diagnose it wrong, you maybe even will not get a notification and just lose cure if use it, maybe with negative effects.  After you quess it right 2~ or more, your herbalist can diagnose it for free for like ~20% energy, but each time they diagnose that illness, they will need less energy to do it. Example: pack leader had diarrhea 2 times. Each time you diagnosed it right and cure them. Next time, when your leader or another wolf will have diarrhea, you can just go to herbalist and diagnose your wolf for energy.
