Add a Pup/Wolf selling/compensation mechanic [14/12/20 - New Community Suggestion Added]

I absolutely agree, with perhaps a few tweaks. What Lesbirds was saying, I believe about FR, I think would work well here as well! It certainly doesn't have to be an SC compensation.

For anyone here from Lioden, a mechanic such as the Gorilla Enclave could be introduced? I never really use the Enclave but it's useful for getting rid of the cubs you don't want. That or a place like the Giving Tree where you can abandon pups and others can pick them up. I don't know what they'd be in Wolvden, or how systems like that would be implemented, but I think they would be nice to have later on as WD grows.

I have a ton of wolf pups myself that it would break my heart to chase out but I don't have the room for them and they don't meet the 'i'm keeping you because...' qualifications.

100% support this.

The Enclave would be a terrible option at this point.  One cub with very specific requirements that never match what you have on hand?  It doesn't flush out the market at all.

Getting 1sc for chasing pups/adols, possibly with a max earned per day (10?) Would be a much simpler solution that would actually reduce the number of pups on the market.

Definitely agree, it's frustrating having to chase pups for nothing after you spend upwards of 100 sc to get your female pregnant in the first place, and then however much on food and toys.

Okay I'm sure this idea has so many problems, but just off the top of my head- what if you could give pups to wolves you meet in explore? Not the 'enemy' ones, the ones you can befriend. There could be limits, like only female wolves taking pup, limits to the amount of pups and so on. Then there would be a chance that the wolf gives you something in return.

This way you would still be able to chase pups easily from their page, or if you want to put the time into explore you could get a small reward. So gameplay wouldn't change for current players, but it is an added bonus.

This would require a bit of coding, but you might be able to use the acorn-trade mechanic with a drop-down menu?  I don't know a lot about coding however so it might actually be difficult to implement. You would also need some writing, but not much.

Example/Idea:

"A friendly wolf appears. She wags her tail and comes up to you. Making friendly small talk she mentions her pack's difficulty having pups. You happen to have to many mouths to feed..."

With buttons like "Offer pups" which pressed shows a drop-down menu of all your pups, a "Befriend" button that lets you try to befriend as usual, and a "Leave" button when pressed could have some text like "You show your sympathy for her plight, and continue on your way" and takes you on to explore as usual.

If given pups simple text like "The wolf thanks you profusely, then turns and walks away with the pups trailing happily behind her." Then if you get something just add text like "It seems the wolf left  -insert reward- behind, you might as well take it"

Please tell me what problems could occur with this that I hadn't thought of!

im in support of this somewhat. i dont think currency gain would be a good idea (any flight rising player knows what i mean), however id be satisfied enough with a "past wolves" section separate from the dynasty that has tiered or unlockable loot/achievements.

for example, if you chase/kill/etc 500 wolves you have the option of clicking a 1 time button that gives you a 100% energy boost or perhaps +(exp × level)

I strongly support Laika's suggestion to the idea about exploring and finding the female! It would make for a sweet encounter as well.

In general I agree with the idea in itself. I see pups and even adols that are inthe trade at only 2 SC and still nobody touches them at all and that's honestly disheartening knowing how saturated the pup and adol market is.

Oh, I really like Laika's idea. That's a good one.

I support the original idea in the OP as long as:

- it's limited to pups only; I think this would help get people to toss young wolves out of the game before they age up and can only be chased or sold to other players. This also makes it easy to keep NBWs away from the feature. This part is just a preference of mine, though, I don't think it'd be game-breaking or anything for it to accept adult wolves.

- it gives you a non-currency reward - preferably some sort of points that can be used to purchase exclusive items from the feature, or a randomized reward (which, if an item, has a low raccoon wares value.)

I wouldn't want any feature like this to incentivize breeding wolves for the feature or become a primary method of gaining SC. This has always been a kind of sucky part of flight rising, the incentive to mass-breed dragons no one wants because you'll always gain some treasure for them through exalting.

Absolutely support. It seems pretty hard to sell wolves right now.
