maximizing hunting exp?

maximizing hunting exp?

what are the best strategies for gaining the most EXP per hunt with low stat wolves? i have one team averaging around 450 stats, and another around 650. i'm hoping to raise those totals as quickly as possible to start breeding for higher stat puppies.

is it better to hunt in easier biomes with a higher success chance, or in difficult biomes with lower success but higher exp payouts?

thanks for any wisdom. i did find an old document with the hunting exp per biome & prey size, so i know that more difficult biomes give more exp, but many sections are missing information about exp gains on failed hunts.

If you're not low on food, I've always found it good to go for more difficult biomes. iirc stat gains are more frequent even if you don't gain as high as possible XP from failing

thanks for the insight! the stat gains from hunting are something i overlook because they're infrequent on easy biomes. i'm flush with food rn so i can easily afford to lose prey.

does extra time taken to hunt in further away biomes factor in to this? like should i be sending them to the glacier & rainforest every time, or just the harder next-door biomes to balance time & exp?

Hmmmmmm I would say the harder next door biomes, since con. forest is a bit far from glacier. Maybe send a hunt there every once in a while but not constantly. Once they get better at hunting maybe start moving farther north (or south) so it doesn't take quite as long

Even if you need to hunt at home because of time constraints or lack of food, make sure you send your hunters after the biggest trails they can find. They will get more EXP from that.
