[explore encounter] defuse and befriend!

in terms of the first suggestion (failing/succeeding) is already implemented in the original idea! defuse shows up at the beginning of a hostile wolf encounter as a chance, and there is a chance it succeeds, as is says here in the first paragraph under the initial about "defuse" subheading:
a randomly generated chance to "defuse" the fight (added for clarification: the "fight" button would still be there, but "defuse" would be an alternate option). if successful, it would load up a befriending wolf screen as a chance to invite the wolf into your pack.

Maybe since you choose to try to befriend a wolf that is hostile to you, the befriending encounter would have like 1-2 red arrows to start?

thank you for your suggestion, but it has been previously added in the post!
suggestion made by blacklight (#131787) that if defuse is successful, the befriending encounter would start with 1 red arrow, adverse to an effect available as a talent.

I'm really enjoying how much this is developing. I have a question: in your image that you uploaded you added the defuse option in a similar way to the befriend option. So my thought is, shouldn't it be available as an option in the battle itself? I do realize that this would be hard to program and your way of doing it makes the most sense, but it was jut a thought! Also, to add on to foehn's suggestion about adding it as a rare chance after the battle, would it be a good idea to have the wolf at 0 hit points with an injury or sickness, since it lost a battle?

i appreciate the question
the original idea is for defuse to have the possibility of showing up before or after a battle - not during. because there isn't really an encounter example for after the battle, i am not able to edit that as well as i could the other one.
this being said, i could imagine that if the wolf is added after the battle, this could effect hp and injuries. i'm more than happy to add that into the suggestions!
