I didn't see anyone else, or anywhere else marking the new encounters, so I'm marking them here. Apologies if someone else is already doing this. This will in no way be neat or pretty. This isn't a guide rather, a telling and showing of the new encounters + items received depending on each interaction. I'm currently in the grasslands and may change biome throughout the event to track more if there are biome-exclusive encounters. ------ For the butterfly encounter, I picked 'Follow" and got the following result: You feel a bit mesmerised by the wings, seemingly staring at you and enticing to follow the butterfly. You follow, cautiously, until you find a dead animal. Yikes! You got +1 ME ! Pronghorn Doe Carcass You got +1 Pronghorn Doe Carcass! ------ For the Tala and Egg encounter: Trick: With a snicker, you jump at them from behind, apologizing for not having any treats for the spooky monsters. Tala laughs in delight and draws nearer, playfully whispering a silent 'boo' right into your ear! In that same instant, a sudden pinch of pain shoots through your ankle. You turn to Egg, eyes wide with surprise, but she simply shrugs it off, casually explaining that you should have expected a spider to bite. You got +2 ME ! You lost -1 HP! Join: When you propose the idea of going together, Tala's eyes light up and she wags her tail with excitement. On the other hand, you can practically hear Egg rolling her eyes in response. She eventually agrees, noting that at least you don't need a costume and their chances for treats could rise significantly. Tala gives her a side-eye, but it doesn't change her attitude at all. This spider costume is fitting, it seems. You got +1 ME ! Roadrunner Feather You got +1 Roadrunner Feather! ----- For the diseased / zombie bear: (Note: My lead is immune to illness after being diseased by this encounter previously. One of these gave my lead an infection) Ask what happened: You're intrigued more than scared. If it's not a demonic being, then something changed the bear into this miserable creature. It could happen to you, too. When you ask the bear about its situation, it stares back at you with its eyes full of pain. It tries to speak but its words remain an incomprehensible murmur. Then, in a sudden and unexpected burst of strength, the creature lunges at you with a thunderous roar, delivering a painful bite. You manage to escape, but is its condition contagious? It's probably best to get the bite treated by your herbalist. You got +2 ME ! You lost -2 HP! Kill: It's not only an act of mercy but also a preventive measure against its... disease. If it isn't a monster, then you're doing the world a favor before everyone turns into something twisted like this. You thought it would be easy, but the creature is stronger than it appears, and its nasty teeth manage to sink into your skin. Injured but ultimately victorious as you deliver the killing blow, you know such a grim end is necessary. You got +2 ME ! You lost -3% energy! --- For the deer-thing: Growl: Whatever happened to this deer, surely a predator like you is still a threat to it? You decide to take the risk and posture at the deer aggressively. The deer stops mid-step, lowering its head to look at you. You're certain that it's about to attack, but it suddenly walks away, allowing you to explore the area in peace. You got +2 ME ! Hare Carcass You got +1 Hare Carcass! Staring Contest: The deer keeps staring at you as if it is waiting for you to make the slightest bit of movement. Maybe it can't see you as long as you don't move? You decide to accept the challenge, which ends up being a lot harder than you thought it would be. When you're close to giving up, the deer shakes its head and turns away, leaving you alone. Now you can explore this area in peace. You got +2 ME ! Flamingo Carcass You got +1 Flamingo Carcass! |

Demon Dog  The black, shadowy shape looks like an ordinary wolf at first, but you can sense that something is not right. It has abnormally long teeth and reddish saliva, resembling both blood and lava at the same time. Despite its scary appearance, you have the overwhelming feeling that it's suffering. The only option is "Try to scare it away" Result: You bare your teeth, trying to look as intimidating as possible. You're sure that the wolf can smell your fear, but to your surprise, the intimidation strategy works flawlessly. The demonic wolf takes a step back and loses interest in you. Now is your chance to flee! You got +2 ME ! ------------- Haunted Lake  A mesmerizing, emerald glow beckons from a distance, capturing your attention. When you move closer, you see strange orbs floating above the surface of a shallow lake. You watch as the green flames dance in the air soundlessly. After a while, you notice that everything is abnormally silent, as if this area is a bubble of an alternate dimension. Options: "Go into the water" or "Investigate" Result: --Go into the water-- Fascinated by this magical scenery, you take a step further...and further. You realize that you are quite far away when the water suddenly covers your back. What happened? You can't remember anything between noticing the flames and regaining the clarity of your mind. It's best to get back to dry ground. You got +1 ME ! --Investigate-- You are as careful as possible, sniffing around and avoiding looking into the strange lights. The flaming orbs don't seem to be warm, and the source of this unreal phenomenon is unknown. However this came to be, it's best to get on your way quickly. As you pad away, you find something useful. You got +2 ME ! Oregano You got +1 Oregano! ------------ Pumpkin Scarecrow  You stumble upon a desolate field, with only the wind howling between the destroyed remains of crops. A dark, tall shadow is guarding this forgotten place. You recognize the figure as a scarecrow, but this one is different. A skeletal silhouette with a pumpkin for a head appears to follow your every step, and the grotesque grin on its face feels sentient. Did it just move? Option: "Knock the pumpkin down" Result: Attack is the best defense; it has always worked for you, and it should work this time. You don't want to wait until this thing moves on its own again. You jump at the skeletal silhouette with a snarl, knocking the entire scarecrow down. As soon as the pumpkin rolls away, the strange force keeping the creature alive disappears. You destroy the pumpkin even more, just to make sure it's smashed into pieces. You got +2 ME ! Pineapple Leaf You got +1 Pineapple Leaf! ------------ Hanging Effigy  You notice something oddly-shaped attached to an overhang of a rather tall eroded cliff. What the heck is it? It's not a natural object, somebody definitely made this. Option: "Grab" Result: (Outcome 1) You grab the object excitedly. It drags something from the edge it was attached to and it bonks you on the head! Ouch! You now have two items, though! You got +2 ME ! You lost -4 HP! (Outcome 2) You very gently grab the object by the tip and it lands on your tongue before you spit it out. The taste reminds you of a smoky meat and clears your nose a bit. You got +1 ME ! You got +2 HP! ----------------- Skull Rock  Two empty eye sockets of an abnormally large human skull peer at you maliciously. As you move closer, you realize that it's just an odd-shaped rock. It doesn't make the rock any less creepy; the resemblance is just too close. Option: "Check it out" Result: (Outcome 1) Gathering your courage, you start to sniff around the rock in hopes of finding something interesting. When you shove your nose inside the eye socket of the stone skull, you feel something at the other end. You got +5 SC ! You got +2 ME ! (Outcome 2) The stone skull is scary enough that a lesser animal would run in fear. You're no pushover, though. When a brave wolf like you appears, nothing stays hidden for long! You sniff around the stone, checking both dark eye sockets carefully. You knew it! There is something hidden in one of them! You got +2 ME ! Bone You got +1 Bone! |

 The creature in front of you appears to be just a giant spider. As you look closer, you realize its head resembles a human skull, emitting a constant, unsettling hissing sound. What a nightmare! There is no way to go forward without catching its attention. Only Option: "Attack" Result: (Outcome 1, my lead was immune) You swallow your disgust and approach the spider to kill it swiftly with one good chomp of your jaws, but it's much quicker than you. You feel a painful sting on your nose and the world swirls around you for a bit. The bastard poisoned you! (Outcome 2) You decide to kill the creepy thing. If you had fire, you'd kill it with fire, but teeth and claws will have to do! One good chomp at the web and few strong poundings and the disgusting creature is dead. It twitches grossly as it dies and you look away. You notice something on the ground, having fallen from the destroyed web. How did it get there? You got +2 ME ! Pheasant Rooster Carcass You got +1 Pheasant Rooster Carcass! ------------ Corrupt Abomination  Whoa! If death could walk, it would be this thing… and it's locked on you! Option: "Battle" Result: Battle with a Level 15 Corrupted Abomination; it dropped 1 ME. |

 An intricate construction is impaled on a rock in a sturdy way. It's not that big--perhaps you could even detach it? Or decorate it more? Options: "Add a piece (give up 1 large branch)" OR "Steal it" Result(s): --Add a piece (give up 1 large branch)-- You decide to add the coolest, most twisted piece of wood from your collection and attach it at the base. Now the effigy looks even cooler! When you step back, you notice something on the ground, as if your offering has been accepted and you have been rewarded. But that's absurd, right? You got +3 ME ! --Steal it-- You gently grab a piece in your front teeth and... something stings your palate! Looks like the construct has some pieces that are dangerous for wolves like you... you take what fell off and leave the rest untouched. You got +1 ME ! You lost -4 HP! ----------- Living Effigy  You yelp, surprised by glowing eyes in the openings of a tall effigy. It looks alive and rustles a bit. Since when did the stick-forms move? Options: "Poke" or "Grab a piece" Result: --Poke-- You approach the odd construct and lean closer and closer with your nose to take a small whiff... until it moves! You freeze and look up, seeing the red, blinking eyes inside. Suddenly, the entire thing falls on you, covering you in straw and sticks! It's eating you alive! Or... maybe it just fell apart. Oops. You got +1 ME ! You got +2% energy! --Grab a piece-- You gently approach the construct, but it rustles and moves violently when you get too close! It looks scary, as if it could grab you... So you grab it first! You pull out a small piece and run for your life! You got +1 ME ! ------------ Hollowed Tree  A big tree appears to be hunched over your path. It looks a bit knotted and hollow inside, as if somebody twisted strings and strands in place of the trunk. Options: "Dig around it" or "Check inside" Result: --Check inside-- You gently shove your head into the openings, but without too much pressure, so you avoid getting stuck. It takes some time and effort, but finally, you find one that allows you to get your nose in far enough and sniff around. Jackpot! You got +2 ME ! You lost -1% energy! ------------- Twisted Tree  You did not expect to find something so unusual on this well-tread path. A twisted, dead tree is curving in an unnatural way, filling you with unease. Options: "Check inside" or "Mark scent" or "Find buried stash" Result: --Check inside-- You peek inside the tree, checking out both the carved inner tunnel as well as the exposed base. There's a few interesting objects, but nothing too special. You got +3 SC ! You got +1 ME ! --Mark Scent-- You decide it's a great place to leave a scent mark. Once you do your deed, however, the tree starts creaking loudly and swaying as if it's ready to fall on you! You dart away, watching the tree squirm until it curves again in another direction. Holy cow! What an adrenaline rush. You got +1 ME ! You got +1% energy! --Find buried stash-- There's no way there's not at least one cool thing buried here! After a long while of tiresome digging, you find a useful object, indeed! You got +1 ME ! You lost -2% energy! Medicine: Healing Salve You got +1 Medicine: Healing Salve! ---------------- Dead Hand Tree  A huge, dead tree appears to scratch the sky with its distorted, twisted branches that resemble clawed hands. Its exposed roots give the impression that the tree is in the midst of stepping out of the ground. Maybe it really is alive...? Options: "Rest" or "Dig" Result: --Rest-- While the appearance of this tree isn't very inviting, it does seem like a calm place. You relax among the protruding roots and close your eyes for a brief moment. When you wake up, you realize that your slept longer than you intended, but it was certainly refreshing. You have an odd feeling that the pleasant dream you had about your fur being caressed and groomed wasn't just a dream. The clawed branches seemed to have changed positions while you slept. How odd. You got +2 ME ! Ibis Feather You got +1 Ibis Feather! --------- Skull Tree  You stop in your tracks, startled by seeing a face when there shouldn't be one here at all. After taking another look, it appears to just be an odd, bulbous growth on a tree, creating the illusion of a face. Options: "Climb" or "Cover them" Result: --Cover them-- You decide it'd be better if nobody saw these twisted faces, including you on your way back. You grab some local foliage and pile it against the trunk. You got +1 ME ! Redwood Sorrel Large Leaf You got +1 Redwood Sorrel, +1 Large Leaf! |

 You warily approach a deep hole, pelt prickling. The water inside this hole has a reddish tone and appears oddly dense...just like blood. Is it even possible for water to look like blood? Even the hole itself doesn't appear entirely natural, and more like someone dug it. You're almost certain you notice movement right beneath the surface, too. Options: "Hunt" or "Investigate" or "Drink" Result: --Drink-- You lower your head to try the strange liquid. To your surprise, it doesn't taste as awful as it looks. In fact, the taste is quite normal, and you even start to feel better. How is that possible? You got +5% energy! You got +5 HP! ----------------------  From a distance, the body of this small fox cub appears to be a carcass. As you approach, you uncover the horrible truth—it's still alive, but barely breathing. Demonic growths have contorted its body in a painful manner, leaving it almost unable to move. Options: "End its pain" or "Take it to the herbalist" Result: --Take to herbalist-- It's not easy to watch this little one suffer so much. It takes only a few seconds but feels a lot longer when you look at its tiny body. The poor thing had only just started its life. You got +2 ME ! Bearberry Agouti Carcass You got +1 Bearberry, +1 Agouti Carcass! ---------------  Without warning, a strange red mist envelopes you and you have no chance to observe where it came from. Your breathing isn't affected, but the air feels oddly sticky in your lungs. Options: "Take a deep breath" or "Hold your breath and escape" Result: --Take a deep breath-- You start to panic a bit, gasping for air. Nothing seems to calm you down and you run towards an opening, not stopping until you feel better. You find something on the ground under your paws. You lost -3% energy! Badger Skull You got +1 Badger Skull! ------------  While the deer is undoubtedly dead, its afflicted body seems to possess a life of its own with red, glowing veins and growths that appear to move. It looks like it's breathing! Spooky. Options: "Investigate" or "Eat" Result: --Investigate-- It's not wise to touch meat like this. Even if it smells tasty, the outcomes of eating it could be unpredictable. Instead, you decide to poke around the carcass to see if there's anything to find. The scent of the changed deer is still familiar, but a hint of something unknown and hostile lingers around its body even after death. You manage to find something useful tucked underneath the twisted carcass. You got +3 ME ! Ibis Feather Agouti Carcass You got +1 Ibis Feather, +1 Agouti Carcass! --------  The familiar sound of rain is usually soothing, but the bloody red drops that fall from the sky set you on edge. Though you know it's water from the smell, the crimson hue of red puddles forming on the ground is unsettling. Options: "Feel it on your fur" or "Hide" Result: --Feel it on your fur-- You wag your tail, looking up. Rain is always good fun! You stretch a bit and stomp around in puddles, enjoying a fun moment before you have to head back. The deep, dark colour of the puddles is sticks to your paw pads, but strangely they feel much healthier and sturdier than before! You got +2 ME ! You got +3 HP! --Hide-- You're not really a fan of rain, especially rain that looks like this. You decide to hide under a rocky formation to stay out of it. Tucked in for short time, you find something shiny in your hiding spot. You got +2 SC ! You got +1 ME ! ---------------------  You stop mid-step when you feel a strange, energizing sensation. While everything around looks normal, you definitely feel different here. The air feels refreshing, and even just standing here makes you feel better. Options: "Close your eyes" or "Look around" Result: --Look around-- There's nothing that catches your attention, but you have a strong feeling that you should seek out the sensation. Enthusiasm flows through you as you follow the inner voice that urges you forward. As you sniff at every pebble, you eventually stumble upon something. Following the sensation was worth your time! You got +2 ME ! Flamingo Carcass Grouse Feather You got +1 Flamingo Carcass, +1 Grouse Feather! |
