Frieren has a laid-back nature; yet, her aloof demeanor baffles her peers, with Heiter remarking that Humans cannot understand an Elf's emotions. As an Elf who has lived for at least a millennium, she has a poor sense of time, which presents itself as a horrible habit of not being able to get up in the morning, as well as a deeper inability to understand how time goes for humans. This contributes to Frieren's aloof demeanor, as she believes that long periods of time are insufficient for her to develop meaningful bonds. For example, she considered a ten-year voyage with her friends to be short, and she thought she knew nothing about the Hero Himmel until his passing. However, after Himmel's burial, she decided to get to know her pack more.
Frieren is normally stoic, carefree, and lacks subtlety, yet she is also emotionally sensitive to certain things. She felt ashamed when others found that her mana detection is disrupted for a fraction of a second when a spell is cast, a typical mistake among apprentice mages that she has yet to overcome. She is sensitive to being called ancient and holds a grudge against Stark for doing it twice. When she is upset, she can throw a tantrum and cry for up to three days, frightening the other members of the Hero's Party. It also hinted that she is slightly insecure about her physique, as she periodically shows flashes of envy over the size of Fern's bust.
Frieren is a small female wolf with ghostly eyes and long, dark fur.
